Randomness

Since I don't have payroll this morning... I have nothing on my plate until later in the day.  So... watch out.

So first, I plan on getting some writing done.  I have like a chapter and an epilogue to finish my WIP, so that makes me happy.  But this last chapter is smutty as hell so it's going to be a challenge (in more than one way).  I love making playlists for my characters as well as for my individual stories.  So far today, I have two songs stuck in my head relating to the chapter I'm working on:

Thomas Rhett's Crash and Burn:

(He's so damn cute, he looks just like his papa, Rhett Akins.)

The other is kind of funny when you think about what I'm writing (a messy threesome with an implied love triangle that's been going on for a bit)... because it's Maroon 5's Figure It Out.

(Sorry there's no actual video... not a song M5 ever released that I know of.)

And speaking of Adam Levine, let me transition into a little rant re: The Voice.

I think it was last season when Gwen gave Craig Wayne Boyd a makeover.  Cleaned him up, gave him a hair cut, etc. and he went on to win.  #TeamBlake, just sayin'.  That's fine because sometimes we all need a day at the spa, right?  Last night I was watching Monday's episode and saw she gave one of her female team members (Ellie?  I don't remember) a makeover as well.  She looked really nice, but pretty much all Gwen did was cut off a chunk of her hair, her style and whatnot remained pretty much the same.  Either way, I'm sure it made Ellie feel better, prettier, more confident.  All A+ things.

Then I saw Braiden.

I'm going to admit, I have a thing for boys with crazy curls.  My first crush, back in like the third grade, was on a dark-haired, blue-eyed boy named Mark who had a headful of these crazy waves.  I think he's what hooked me (even though he'd gone bleach blond sk8tr boi by high school).  Blake cutting his hair in 2006 or so only made it stick harder (go check out the video for Don't Make Me if you want to see what I mean).  *tears eyes of soaking wet cowboy*  Where was I?  Right.  Curls.  And Braiden Sunshine.

Braiden's only fifteen and cute as a freaking little button, but Gwen will not leave his messy curls alone.  Now, he looked adorable on Monday night, but not only does Gwen keep straightening his curls, but she's making him take off his glasses, too.  And as far as I'm concerned, she's taking away all his character.  The kid has an AMAZING voice, but good lord, Gwen.  I got rather annoyed last night after his performance because, as he's talking to Adam, Braiden says something like, "I don't have my glasses, so I can't see you."  Wait, what?  Someone eventually brought him his glasses so he could gaze upon the beauty that is Adam.  *coughs*

His Monday night performance:

This kid kills me.  Even though he's #TeamGwen, I'd love for him to win.  Also: not nearly enough Blake and Adam banter on Monday night, although Blake did get under Adam's skin with his quip about how Gwen was kicking Adam's but that night.  Heh.  I'm sure Blake will make nice later and um, apologize or something.

(Yes I'm in strict denial of the Blake/Gwen relationship, so sue me.  I wasn't any less delusional when he started dating Miranda either.)

Anyway, I got sidetracked so I think there was something else but now i can't remember.  Ugh.  Oh well.  I guess I'll go back to my smut mongering now.  Poor Zek.  Just sayin'.

I am in so much glee over the upcoming story! Hee. ;-)Those songs sound perfect for it, too!

I checked out the Blake vid. Mmm, nice. I have to say though, it's the lips that got me. He has very kiss-me lips and I am a sucker for those (check out: Karl Urban, see icon!). The hair is good too though and yes to the wet cowboy look!

As for Braiden - I don't actually know what he looked like before the makeover, so I can't really comment on the comparison, but I will say he looks fairly nondescript in the video. His voice is pretty damn good though! And I adore that song (It's my fave Bread song!) so that's praise - he doesn't do it quite the way David Gates does, but you don't expect that, and I can see he certainly has talent!

YAY, ZEK! I hope those two boys treat him good. Just sayin'.

It is agonizing trying to get through this scene though! I've never written something like this before and keep embarrassing myself trying to envision it all. HAH.

YES. He has such an amazing mouth. That and those big, blue eyes of his. I remember the first time I saw the video, actually on my TV, and having my mouth drop open. And then my then 6-year-old daughter comes into the room, singing at the top of her lungs. Totally ruined the mood. :D

Nondescript - yes, that's a very good word. He looks like every other fifteen-year-old boy you'd run into on the street. But my god, he can sing, can't he? I can't even imagine how good he'll be in five years.

Oh, you know they're going to be very good to him. *snickers*

And since I don't know how big this will be, I'll put it at the end. Braiden Sunshine in his natural state:

Well, now you're doing it, we should be able to look forward to more! I well remember the first time I wrote a gay sex scene... not to mention that my first real foray into the slash porn one was a 10 part porny series featuring Jack, Sayid and Sawyer from Lost in all the permutations that implies. :D Now, I barely blink at imagining all sorts of naughty slashy things and then writing them down... *shakes head at self*

Now see, blue eyes aren't my thing, although the occasional set in the right combo of other features will get me. But he is, I will grant you, one hell of a good-looking guy! The height is always a plus too, for me! ;-)

Okay, I guess I see why she thought a makeover was a good idea, but in all honesty, she didn't have to go so extreme! He looks like a completely different kid! There are people (like your good self!) who will go ape for the curly hair! Maybe just cut it a little - give it more shape - but don't set the boy up for having to maintain something like that straight nothingness for his whole career! Blech! And the glasses are fine! Let him see, for cripes sake!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I so can't wait to see how good they are to him!!!!! ;-)

Yes! Getting it out once is all it takes, I think. Hahaha... oh gods, the things I think about/envision sometimes... my problem right now is that I'm at work... surrounded by MEN. That's where the embarrassment comes in, I think.

Ah, now I'm a sucker for blue eyes, but especially green ones. :) Yeah, he's like 6' 5", so he's a long stretch of Oklahoma. ;)

I agree. Trim it up, give him a little gel so it's not so froofy, something. But the glasses could even be his trademark like they are for Elvis Cosetello (I think that's the right guy), that kind of thing. And besides, he really is just a kid. Let him have his awkward phase! LOL

HAH. I have only two chapters left on my wedding fic, one of which is with my beta right now. So maybe in three weeks I can get to start posting? I'd suggest another beta, but mine might just leave the great white north to come hunt me down if I tried that. :D

Damn straight, I would ;)

Aw, I would not touch that kid's look one bit. He's a 15 year old boy, for crying out loud! Let him look like an adorable geek. He's going to grow up, get muscles and attitude *and never call his mother* Hahah!

Just listened, too. Great song, agree with Haldoor on being a favorite. The little cutie probably does not have 'THE' package all together to win, but hey, he has so much going for him.

I'm not afraid of you. If I wait long enough, you won't be able to slog through the snow to get to me. Hah.

I know, right? When she did it with Craig Wayne Boyd, he needed it. He was an adult and looking a little shaggy. But this kid is just that - a kid. At least let him have his glasses.

He really is amazing for being so freaking young. I'm sure you're right, but I've been surprised on this show before. But he has a ton of potential. The guy I think might win is Jordan Smith. His performance from this week is here: https://youtu.be/FCCoWOTQ918 I also really like the Irish guy, Keith Semple.

Yeah, okay, Amy. No one cares. Go back to your porn. :D

I'd never even heard of Thomas Rhett before, but he IS adorble, and that song is super catchy! :)

"Figure It Out" is one of the Maroon 5 songs that gets stuck in my head for days at a time :P lol... LOVE it!

I agree with you re: Gwen's making over of Braiden, he was totally adorable as he was. I hope she doesn't change him too much.

Personally, I'm not so much in denial about Blake/Gwen as I am ... entertaining interesting threesome type ideas ;) lol... that really sweet pic Adam tweeted of the three of them didn't help. Not a bit. :P

Thomas Rhett is still pretty new, but I'm digging his music. LOL - it's an earworm, that song!

Yes - that and "Wake Up Call" are two of my favorites. They get in your head and you can't shake 'em. :)

I hope she doesn't either. He's a cutie pie as is, and has an amazing voice. Why screw with his outside when his inside is what people want?

OMG... HAHAHAHA. Oh, I bet it didn't! I love it though... even Adam is involved now. :D
