What Are You Watching? (Graphics heavy because I'm a dork)
Anyone in the mood for a little TV talk?
So, Tuesday night I finally got around to watching the Sherlock special that showed on New Year’s Day. Only having heard vague things about the premise, I was kind of concerned. However, about two minutes in, I was hooked. I thought that it was really well done and all the twists and turns really kept you engaged. You had to be – if you looked away for a minute, you missed something. I love the budget they must have for this show though, because the scenery and costumes are alway so amazing. Also, Moriarty. Andrew Scott is just too much sometimes and I freaking love his 110% unbalanced version of Sherlock’s arch enemy.
Last night, during dinner, we watched Lip Synch Battle and Modern Family. As far as Modern Family goes, Mitchell Pritchett for the win. Jesse Tyler Ferguson is just the most adorable thing ever and I cannot love him more than I already do (and then he always surprises me and I wind up loving him more). Although, I think Haley, Luke, and Alex stole the episode last night. I did have to laugh when Ray Liotta appeared on the show (but I’ll get to that later).
Lip Synch Battle. Does anyone actually watch this? Last night was Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan. Jenna really rocked her performance of Paula Abdul’s “Cold Hearted” but she really didn’t have a chance once Channing came out dressed as Elsa. I think my poor husband was on the floor at that point. The next Magic Mike sequel needs to be subtitled Mystical Michelle and get the guys to all do their routines in drag because um, Channing seemed a little too comfortable in a dress. Not that I take issue with that, I don’t – it takes a lot of guts and confidence to wear a dress when you’re constantly being hailed for your manliness. Know what I mean?
This morning, I downloaded episode one of Shades of Blue to watch. It premiered last night and was the reason seeing Ray Liotta on Modern Family made me laugh. I’m going to be perfectly honest with you, there are more than a few bits and pieces to this show that were eye-roll worthy. But show me a police procedural that doesn’t have those moments and I’ll bow to your superior taste in television. Overall, I did enjoy the first episode and think that, if it’s given a chance and the writers are smart, it will be a very good show. There’s a lot of potential as far as the story line goes and I hope they utilize it.
One question before I go: why do these people insist on giving Warren such awful hair? He needs his Wes hair back. I’d much prefer his Wes-turned-Travis hair he had during the Role Play episode, but I can live with his Wes hair. This comb over thing they have him doing is better than whatever the White Collar people did to him, but it’s still no Wes Mitchell hair. Yanno, I'd even settle for crazy ass Roderick hair.
Oh – one last show. Anyone watching Telenovela? It is the stupidest, most ridiculous and yet hysterical show I’ve seen in years. My husband and I laugh until we’re in tears every episode. Eva Longoria is just the best and the rest of the cast is pretty freaking amazing as well. "Are you sure your life isn't like a telenovela?"

(God, I love his little rubber face... and I swear to all that's holy... I've not been drinking nor have I taken any cold medicine this morning. This is all me, folks.)

Okay. That’s enough out of me for now.
