OMG, NERD ALERT
Okay, I'm freaking out a bit although I'm sure you're all going to roll your eyes at me.
I've been doing really well with not requesting every title that tickles my fancy on Netgalley. As a matter of fact, I only had four books on my shelf, one of which is read and waiting for a review. The other three aren't releasing for a few weeks (one is next year), so I have plenty of time to read.
And then goddamned Netgalley sends me an email announcing a new book by Andrzej Sapkowski.
*breathes heavily*
This is the author of The Witcher novels. I've read the first collection of short stories and have been working on the second, and I really like the author's style, his humor, his characters... so I got an itchy trigger finger when I saw this. But, I tried to talk myself out of it, saying I had enough books. I didn't need any more.
Then, I realized it wasn't from one of the small handful of publishers that actually approves me. So, I figure, what the heck? I'll request it, I'll get grumpy when the rejection notice comes, and I'll go back to reading my manga and be happy.
I'll be damned if I didn't get approved for the freaking book today. Although, if they've been to my book blog and have seen how many times I've mentioned The Witcher series... HAHAHA.
Okay, I'll stop geeking out on you. And you know, the upside of all this is I'll have my nose glued to my Kindle all weekend so I likely won't be bugging you either. See? Bonus!

Book info in case anyone cares:

Reinmar of Bielawa, sometimes known as Reynevan, is a healer, a magician, and according to some, a charlatan. When a thoughtless indiscretion forces him to flee his home, he finds himself pursued not only by brothers bent on vengeance but by the Holy Inquisition.
In a time when tensions between Hussite and Catholic countries are threatening to turn into war and mystical forces are gathering in the shadows, Reynevan's journey will lead him to the Narrenturm -- the Tower of Fools.
The Tower is an asylum for the mad...or for those who dare to think differently and challenge the prevailing order. And escaping it, avoiding the conflict around him, and keeping his own sanity will prove more difficult than he ever imagined.
