I used to do these a lot on my old Blogger account - pictures I took at stoplights, things I saw or heard, whatever.  But just things that happened while I was driving.  I might have even posed a couple here in the past, but lets start over, shall we?

So, last night, Maddie and I started talking about brownies for some reason.
Mmm... brownies )

I was watching 9-1-1 Lone Star last night.  I'm behind on both it and the original so I started with LS since there are fewer seasons.  Hahaha.

Anyway, I was watching S4 E15 (I think): Donors.  Grace helps break up an organ trafficking ring while Owen's brother is visiting.  I was on IMDB because I was pretty sure that Detective Dickhead (who later turns out to be an okay dude) was Adam Baldwin (certified IRL dickhead).  While I was looking, I noticed that Owen's brother was played by Rob Lowe's actual brother.  I had no idea he even had a brother who acted.  It was kind of crazy because their voices are similar and their intonations/manner of speaking are very similar.

I'm sad that this got cancelled though.  I weirdly enjoy it more than the original.  Will have to check out Nashville as well.  I just love how freaking ridiculous the episode plots are.

(Wish I still had my talk to me Texas icon loaded.)

I also watched the Emma Thompson version of Sense and Sensibility over the weekend.  Kaige had rec'd it to me but at the time, Britbox only had another version.  Thankfully, BB got with the times and added this one as well.  I enjoyed both versions, but I will say that Alan Rickman makes a much better Col Brandon.  The dude in the other was much too old.  Hahaha.

And now I need to crowdsource opinions on the best adaptation of Jane Eyre.  Britbox has the 2006(?) version with Ruth Wilson, whom I really enjoy.  But I am open to suggestions.

I keep trying to write a post about this and it keeps diverging into family drama, so I'm going to try this one more time and keep my pettiness in check.  Wish me luck.  🤣

I am really, really fucking tired of being shamed and made fun of becuase I can't hack really cold weather.  It is 47 here right now and I'm freezing.  Whoever turned on my space heater yesterday did it for me again today.  I owe them a hug or a coffee or something.

But this particular east coaster I talk to laughed at me for saying I was cold at 49 yesterday and how she'd be wearing shorts and a tank top.  Okay, um, good for you?  Why don't you come visit me in July when we're pushing 117 and see how well you handle the heat?

I know, I know, I shouldn't let this bother me as much as it does, but I am so damn touchy about this subject.  A lot of it stems from being told by my former boss always saying, "You can't possibly be cold" when I'm sitting directly under the AC vent and he's dropped the temp down to 68º.  But also, everyone is different.  I thrive in the heat, but not everyone likes the dry, hot summers we have here.  I don't ridicule them for complaining.  Troy used to call me a freak of nature because I wouldn't use my AC for most of the summer.

Anyway, sorry about this.  I had to get it out before I told the wrong person to STFU and let me be cold.  Hahaha.

While I'm hesitant to complain about how cold I am, seeing as the east coast and midwest have been pummelled with snow, I am still fricken COLD guys.

It's cool and overcast here today, which I kinda love.  It always puts me in a creative mood, so cross your fingers.

I cannot with people.  I've been reading more and more about how people's attention spans have shortened.  How movies have started repeating the plot points during the movie because they know the audience is on their phones, only paying half attention.  I know it's true, I've seen it.  But good lord, are you not paying attention at work, too?

A lady just called and asked for Joel. I told her he was on the other line and could I take a message or did she want to call back.  Her response?  "Is there a number I can reach him at?"

So, I'm thinking she wasn't listening to me until I asked if she wanted to leave a message.

Wish I had that option.  🤣🤣🤣

Anyway... if this is the most annoying thing that happens all day (considering I do work with Joel), I'll be grateful.

If you don't know what Finch is, it's a self-care app that lets you set goals for the day/week/whatever.  You can use it to journal, track your moods, and other things to help you get through the day.  I tend to use it more as a to-do list to remind me to get my exercise in, to drink my water, to do the little things I sometimes forget.  There are lots of good aspects to the app and I've been using it for way too long.  (I just looked and my birb is 4 years and 3 months old so yeah.)

Remember how Gandalf marked Bilbo's door so that the dwarves knew how to find him?  I swear to god he's been marking the front door of the office today because EVERY SALESPERSON IN THE COUNTY HAS STOPPED BY THIS MORNING.  And it's not even 9:30 yet, y'all.  🤣

Okay, back to payroll.

First, to the Knights: CAN WE PLEASE STOP TAKING EVERY GOD DAMNED GAME TO OVERTIME?  I'm sending Bill Foley the bill for my blood pressure medications that I'm sure to be on by the end of this season.  And no, boys, I do not care that you somehow managed to win last night either.
On to the things )

So, it's chilly here today - 43ºF/6ºC.  This is pushing my limit for cold, but those of you who live in a colder climate might feel differently.  I'm pansy when it comes to the cold though.  Hahaha.
Brrr )

I haven't done this in a while and I'm not sure why I stopped, but here we are again.  Had a pretty decent month, too.
