August Rush Day 18: Almost Human "Kidding"

Pairings: John Kennex+Dorian+Detective Paul

Summary: Dorian's sense of humor is showing.
Author's Notes: This is a bit lame, but I think that's expected from me by now. Almost double drabble at 197 words.
“Dorian, that MX is staring at us.” The angry detective flicked a look over his shoulder for emphasis.
“I can see that, Detective Paul,” Dorian stated, giving him a disinterested look. “He’s been staring since you came over here. Are you positive you do not have something on your pants?”
“What?” Paul wiped his hands across his backside, frantic that the DRN might be right. “No, I don’t think I do. Did you see something?”
“No, I was just surmising that maybe that was the reason the MX was staring.”
Detective Paul squinted at Dorian, trying to decipher his unreadable face. “Something’s not right,” he muttered, pulling back from the DRN. “I don’t know what, but I feel like you’re setting me up, just like Kennex would.”
Dorian cocked his head and studied the short detective. “Detective Paul, it isn’t in my programming to play practical jokes.”
He studied him for a moment before nodding solemnly. “Maybe so, but since you’re Kennex’s partner, I still don’t trust you.”
Kennex waited until the little jerk had left the room before coming to stand beside Dorian. “Nice work for a beginner,” he grinned.
“I’m learning from the best, John.”
