Book Stuff + Libraries Rock

Because I’m rather unmotivated this morning. Also, because I have a problem, okay?

First of all, why does it take so damn long to admit to the secrets you’re hiding? I get that you want to build suspense, keep the reader engaged, that’s great. When you do it well, it’s amazing. BUT STOP TELLING ME EVERY TIME WE’RE IN YOUR POV THAT YOU HAVE A SECRET, OKAY?

I really need to stop picking up these damn psychological thrillers. They do it every time.

Also, I’m nearly done with book #20 in James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series. I love these books so much, but the reporter, Cindy Thomas, drives me insane. She’s so arrogant and she beats up Lindsay (a homicide detective) for scoops and then has the nerve when Lindsay says, “Um, I’m working a double homicide and can’t tell you diddly right now” to GET MAD. GO AWAY CINDY.

I mean, if she pouted for a chapter or two, go for it. I would, too, I think, but I wouldn’t be so pissed at my literal SFPD source that I’d stop talking to her. Just sayin’.

The library has been on point lately. I finished the last ARC I had that was due soon, so I tried to finish The Grace Year, but put it down again. It’s not been awful, but it’s not amazing either, and I think I needed a really good read. Probably because I had just finished Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall which was so freaking cute that I wanted to pinch its cheeks. Ahem. Anyway, I picked at The Grace Year for a bit when I got notification from the library that my hold on The 20th Victim by James Patterson was available for download. WOOHOO.

Then, just as I hit the 60% mark, I got another notification that Val Kilmer’s memoir was ready to download, too. I swear, I heard Troy laughing at me when I read that email. So, that’s sitting on my Kindle at the moment to be read next (I ought to finish the JP book today).

THEN I got an email this morning saying that the prequel for The Hunger Games was ready for download, too. Score! I love that Overdrive has this nifty new feature where you can push a hold back up to 21 days and not lose your place in line. So, I bumped it back 7 days figuring I ought to be far enough through I’m Your Huckleberry by that point that the new one won’t expire before I finish it.

See, I warned you: I have a problem.

Okay, okay, I know, no one really cares. Hahaha. With that said, I’m going to get back to work and hopefully work on a fic for a particular prompt. Hope you’re having a great Tuesday so far!

I'ts not me I'm worried about, but Sunny and Violet. They like to perch on my Witcher books that are on the bookshelf in my bedroom. I come home at least twice a week to find Geralt on the floor. LOL

That said, my kids would shrug and walk away, muttering about how it was a fitting end or 'it's what she deserves'. :D

They are just telling you that Geralt is who you need to read next even if you have already read him...lol

Kids can be harsh. :D

Geralt will get his love soon enough. I have Sword of Destiny - book 2 - on my table downstairs to be read soon! :D

They are 100000% their father's daughters.

Sunny is just a brat.
