Because his bookmarks keep slipping out of his choir hymnal, 3M scientist Art Fry teamed up with colleague Spencer Silver to create a paper with a light adhesive that would stay in place without damaging the pages. They created the Post-it Note.

What's even more amusing is that half the time I'm using a Post-It Note as a bookmark.  Hah.

Same! And I have them in every shape and size here at the office.

I have a shoe box full of different shapes and sizes and colours. Doesn't stop me buying more when I see them though.
