Cats...

Or rather, one cat in particular.

Nayla's getting older - she'll be 11 this year - and so she's started having issues.  Nothing major, but she was vomiting more often than she had before.  When it got to be three or four times a week, I thought she needed a trip to the vet, becuase that's worrisome.

So, Tuesday, we went to the vet and he wasn't sure what could be causing the issue and suggested blood tests.  I had expected this, so I agreed.  What I hadn't planned on was him thinking she had something in her intestine/colon, so he asked if he could do x-rays just in case.  Again, she's getting older so I agreed.  He didn't think whatever was in her colon was a mass - he even got another vet to give his opinion - so that was a relief.  But we still needed to wait on the blood work.

He calls me Wednesday to say that her blood work was great, so huge sigh there.  Her kidneys - which was my main concern - look good.  There was something a little off with her liver, but he said it wasn't worrisome and totally normal.  Okay, great.  But, she did have a UTI.  Great.  A UTI is treatable and I have some experience with it thanks to Violet.  It was rather amusing.  He says, "I can call you in an oral antibiotic or you can bring her over and we'll give her a shot."  Um... WHEN CAN I BE THERE?  LOL

Long story short, I had Maddie meet me at the vet yesterday with MIss Nayla in tow to get her antibiotic shot.  That cat's lucky I love her so much because this has been the most expensive UTI ever.

Nayla hates car rides.  Here is a video I took right after I buckled her carrier into the front seat of my Jeep on Tuesday.  Note: the car isn't on and we're still in the garage.

Yesterday, the office cat, Ace, came to let her know she was in good hands.

The lady checking me out on Tuesday told me he was very curious about her when she was getting her x-rays and blood taken.  Kept creeping over to say hello.  LOL

As you can see, she was much happier last night.  Climbed up into the cat tree and took a nap.

Lastly, Violet always sleeps under my bed at night, so I put a blanket down for her comfort.  Last night, I bent down to tell Violet good night and found Sunny in her spot.  When I went to get my phone to take a picture, I came back to this:

These animals are something else, I'm telling you.

I love so many things about this post. Not that Nayla was sick, and I hope the shot fixes whatever has been ailing her, but that protest meow is adorable. And that snuggly cat tree shot, and the fact that you lean down to wish Violet good night! (Because of course you should, and I would too!) And your double trouble twins look so cute and ready to spend the night together. :)

Thank you, she seems to be doing better.

She was having some serious thoughts about the trip and wanted me to know! LOL Thanks for supporting my silly habits. I also tell whatever cat is downstairs, "Goodbye, I love you, I'll be back in time for dinner." whenever I leave for work.
