And so it begins...

While those of us on this side of the planet await the solstice to celebrate summer, it's already hit the desert. (Edit: this should probably read 'this quarter of the planet'...)

Yup, and it's only barely May guys...

And in comparison since Andy's currently back in his homeland and I needed a point of reference...

Guh, 93% humidity?  I'd die, even at only 54º.  And I was thinking our 18% was a lot...

Er, yeah.  Um, so I'm a little odd.  Ever have one of those days when you pray no one ever starts goofing off on your phone?  This is one of those days for me.  And now, I'm going to shut up and go back to contemplating filling a prompt... And I refuse to admit I named my phone Zeklos and my iPod Murphy.

I have the following:

80 degrees with 84% humidity and mosquitoes, so I'll happily take Andy's 54 degrees with 93% humidity any day.

Yanno, having lived in Houston, TX, I can appreciate exactly how gross that combination can be. I'm spoiled though, considering our humidity is generally around 8 or 9%. Oh, and mosquitoes are horrid! Give me a big ol' spider any day. At least I can get away from them. :D

So yeah, I bet you'd take Andy's weather in a heartbeat! Currently he has 63ยบ and only 63% humidity, it's an improvement! (And god, I really ought to go back to work... I'm getting goofy again.)

Well, Sunday morning it was 38, so you can have that?? :) Gah! When did Andy go back to the homeland?! Crap, I am so far behind. I still have to catch up with the end of Cowboy Confrontation (with everything from his sexuality to his family!) :)

(It's only craziness if the phone and iPod begin to talk back...)

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2016-05-10 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, um no. It generally doesn't even get to 38 during the heart of winter here.

Last week? :D But more seriously, it's for the new WIP I'm working on, although I used this fic as a starting point. It worked well enough as a lead in to chapter 1, so I took it.

(Hah! Troy head me muttering about misplacing Andy not too long ago and he's like, "You misplaced what?" MY PHONE. I LOST MY PHONE.)

So, since everyone else is doing it, here's Auckland today (it's only 5 days after you posted...):

I even changed it to degrees F just for you! ;-) Swap? (apologies for the huge size!)

Not swapping with that humidity! LOL But seriously, I find it interesting to see what other peoples' weather is like, because I'm weird that way. You're on the tail end of winter, aren't you? Or am I thinking backwards again? I actually love the heat, but if the humidity gets above 15%, it's too much. Weird, huh?

Can't say I blame you! This is the nature of the city I live in... it's almost as bad in summer!

We are just going into winter (the total opposite of America - Dec-March is summer, April-May is autumn, June-Sept is winter, Oct-Nov is spring, although it can vary, obviously). This autumn has been very mild and it's usually a lot colder by now, though the humidity woulldn't necessarily be much different. *sigh* I hate the humidity too, so don't ask why I live where I do, other than know that it's where I grew up and so I didn't realise there was such a thing as low humidity till I was an adult! I love the heat too, but your humidity sounds SO WONDERFUL. I was in Egypt once - the temp one day was 42 C (108ish F) but IT WAS SO DRY that it was perfectly liveable - hot in the sun, of course, but in the shade it was perfectly okay.

I am so getting on a plane to your place (as soon as I win Lotto) !!!

Hah! And I bet. I know how gross it was when I lived in Houston because there, it's hot and humid.

Ah, gotcha. I knew you weren't in spring or summer, but wasn't sure if it was fall or winter. I'm always off because our seasons here in Nevada don't really coincide with the rest of the world's, or even this half of the word. We're already pretty much into summer weather, even though it's supposedly only spring (sorry, 90F+ is summer).

YES! I've never been to Egypt (how neat that must have been!), but that's exactly how it is here. Hot, but you don't get that pressing feeling in your lungs because the humidity makes the air so heavy.

Hah! Come on down, whenever you win the Lotto! :D
