Note to self:

Do not ask the 19-year-old if you should make coffee cake on a Sunday morning.

Her answer will always be yes.

She will also point out that you have cinnamon and cake batter on your face.

(If you're interested, the recipe is here.)

Sounds good to me. :-)

It was delicious. :)

Saved the recipe.

I would say I'd be right over... but well it's too long a trip and I'm sure it's already gone.

(Although Nevada is one of the states I still need to get to.)

I still need to figure out one more of my prompts so I can fill two more for the day (any/any first time is the prompt.)

You get no respect...lol

Not from my older child, that's for sure! The younger one would have been, "If you want..." LOL

Listen, if you asked the 50y/o if you should make coffee cake at any point in time the answer would be yes.

And if you were closer, I'd have brought you and Eggs a big ol' chunk, too! The thing is - I should have just made it knowing that Taylor would be like, "DUH MOM." LOL

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2019-05-20 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It was so good, I hope you like it if you try it.

Hah, not even close. It makes a 9x13" pan full of thick coffee cake. There's still half left.

(Nevada is overrated, although there are a lot of cool things outside of Las Vegas.)

Hopefully you figured it out!

HA! The answer is always yes to those sorts of questions, and no to the ones you actually want them to say yes to. The trick is to either ask the question so they can't answer oppositely, or to make it a statement rather than a question! Mind you, you'd still have been making coffee cake anyhow...

And then I want to ask if my Mother's Day coffee cake inspired you? hope yours was as delicious as mine was!

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2019-05-21 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Especially with that kid! I already wanted to make it, but wasn't sure if anyone else would want to eat it, so I asked. I should have known better. LOL

Actually, I got an email on Sunday morning from King Arthur Flour with the recipe in it and, likely because of your Mother's Day coffee cake, it sounded sooo goood. LOL And it turned out amazing!

YUM! ;-)

[identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com 2019-05-31 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure I will. :-)

Hahaha niiice.

(Well, I'm sure it is... but I wanna go to all the continental US states... Alaska is up in the air and I already went to Hawaii...)

I figured it out... but haven't written it yet.
