ARGH

So, I get to work this morning and discover that Joel is the only one here.

I knew Ralph was going to be gone since he's on vacation until after New Years. Rhett was out Thursday and Friday because he was sick, so it was possible he wouldn't be here either. But Tim should have been. So, color me surprised when Joel tells me Tim tested positive for COVID-19 this morning.

Fuck my actual life.

Which would likely explain why Rhett is so sick. His dad, Jeff, is taking him (Rhett) to get tested. I just got back from getting mine done.

And now I wait to see whether my boss' goddamned trip to Mexico was worth it for him or not. We do wear masks in the office, but they're not fool proof, especially since Tim's is always falling down and he's having to pull it back up. If I wind up positive, I am going to hurt someone.

Anyway, how's your Monday going? LMAO.

ETA: One of my coworkers (James no less, LMAO), just came into the office with the sole purpose of checking on me and my emotional state. He said he knew how hard the holidays were the first couple years. So, that made me feel good because he's a great guy, but not one I'd have predicted to say that.

I am going to go on a rampage. We are short handed to start with, and my shop foreman is out last week and this week because he is close contact. His son is sick and tested positive, his test came back negative, but he's out until Monday the 28th minimum. The snow crazy was only light on the day it actually snowed, I've had more calls in the last 1.5 weeks than I've had all year about plows and sanders. The good thing about early snow is that it sells plows, the bad thing is that it sells plows NOW. And sanders, and plow parts and sander parts and...

So big boss is trying to get all of foreman's work done as well as his own normal stuff, as well as the plow wave, as well as getting ready for Christmas. AND we had a welder say that he had the sniffles so he went to get a test and won't be in this week, which may or may not be a way to take time off for the holiday.

*fingers crossed * for you and the tests. Stay safe.

UGH. That's how it was for us this summer. We had about 18 of our guys out at one time and most of them were foreman.

OMG, if that guy is pulling this to get time off for the holiday, I might drive all the way over there and smack him myself.

Thanks. And I hope you guys don't go nuts with the guys out, the snow falling, and all the plows!

SO happy I decided to splurge and go to Starbucks this morning. Hahaha.
