Man...

I've started and deleted about three posts today.

It's been a stressful and frustrating day and just when I think I can't handle it any longer, I have to call and talk to my crazy ass fire inspector.

Which is probably good because he said the nicest thing to me today. I called and he actually answered (usually I have to leave a message and wait for a call back) and when I identified myself, he said, "I really need to meet you one day, you always sound so nice."

Boy, won't he be disappointed? :D

And while I know he likely wasn't serious, it was still good to hear on a day when I've been treated like I don't know my rear from a hole in the ground.

On the up side, I have an hour and a half before I can get the hell out of here.

(ETA: I'm about to give Mr. Senior Fire Inspector his own tag if he keeps making me talk about him.)

Aw. That's really sweet- and also excellent timing of him. I do love when there's someone I deal with at work who everything just clicks with and they're a pleasure to work with. It does make up (at least a little) for the super trying ones.

A vacation sounds like a fantastic idea.

Could not have come at a better time, honestly. I have a salesman who has been working for a particular supplier since before I started here in 1997, and he's always a joy to talk to, such a nice guy. And some of our contractors have really great people. The ones I actually work with? They have their days, that's all I'm going to say. LOL!

It's so nice knowing that there is someone out there that will make you smile no matter how tough your day's been. It's definitely a comfort.
