Temptation
Title: Temptation
Word Count: 138
Rating: PG
Summary: He's the one thing she can't resist.
Author's Note: A quickie written for the A to Z challenge at 1_million_words. The letter was T and since Gary Allan's song Temptation has been playing on repeat over this way, I ran with it. God only knows, inspiration has been hard enough to come by lately.
He was everything she’d ever wanted in a man. Handsome, witty, kind, but he was also decidedly off limits. Although he wasn’t married or otherwise attached, he was still forbidden to her. And yet, she found him irresistible, tempting, distracting.
She wanted him with a passion she couldn’t deny, a fervor that increased every time she laid eyes on him, but she’d never cross that line, wouldn’t ever tempt fate by tempting him the way he did her.
It made her feel empty, hollow inside, as if she were missing a vital organ or three. But that was how it had to be, she had no other choice, because it wasn’t ever going to be anything more than this.
From the corner of her eye, she could see him, smiling, laughing, not noticing. Tempting her all the same.
