Your Tuesday Laugh

From the book I started reading this morning:

Marty was grinning. “Danny Beckett,” he said with pretended awe, “Detective Supreme.”

“Detective Supreme, huh?” Jen said with a snicker.

“Yeah,” I said, “just like a regular detective, but with tomatoes and sour cream.”*

This is killing me right now. I’m going to have to make note because this is 110% something Zayne would come up with.

THIS IS AWESOME!

I laughed so hard when I read that. But now, I'm craving tacos.

See, that's all day every day.

I know, right? Makes me wish I'd put that pork loin in the crockpot this morning. Missed opportunities. *sigh*

[identity profile] kaige68.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Tomorrow sounds good for payroll and pork loin

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
YES! I found a chicken al pastor recipe online and then found a pork loin on sale at the store. So, I'm going for pork al pastor tacos in the crock tomorrow!

If you're curious/hungry the recipe is here. I have to sub pineapple juice for the orange though since my husband can't have oranges (too much potassium).

Thank you! I have forwarded it on to Caitlin who thinks it sounds awesome as well. And since she actually cooks...

:D

You're very welcome! And LOL - I don't consider using the crockpot cooking since 99.9% of the time it's dump and walk away. Which is why I use mine so often (that and when it's 110 outside the last thing I want to do is use my stove). Hope you like them!

Sounds like something that can work with a bingo fill

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, it was perfect timing. :D

I can hear Jay roll his eyes and Andy let out a long suffering sigh right now. The girls will just bust his balls like always.

Pork tacos sound good.

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, right? And I wonder who will be the first to suggest a cowboy taco.

They do, with some pineapple salsa and citrus slaw and... this triple berry yogurt isn't doing it for me suddenly. Hahaha.

I think Zayne will add jalepanos. But LOL yes it does sound like him!

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hah - without a doubt!

And now I have Big & Rich's "Jalapeno" running through my head.

[identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know that one, but Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy came up on my walk this morning. Which always gets about half the voices in my head clamoring.

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It's off their Comin' to Your City CD. Goofy ass song, but fun (and a great song to walk to). I just pulled them up on Spotify because I keep singing, "WHOO! JALAPENO!" and my boss is looking at me.

Hahaha - so shocked that James hasn't said that to Zayne yet (although I want to think Zayne - despite hating country music - had that as his ringtone in one story).

[identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure 99% of their songs could be classified as "goofy ass" songs. But they're fun. I'll have to check out Jalapeno!

I'm hella shocked James hasn't said that to Zayne... and now I'm kinda tempted to have someone say it in one of my stories... but I don't really have any cowboys. (Granted Nick is from Texas and is sorta a cowboy, but he wouldn't say it.)

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-12 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Very true. Although they have a few serious ones as well. I love them so I hope you like Jalapeno! My favorite is Six Foot Town off their first album though!

Right? Like how did I miss this perfect opportunity? Hah - I'm sure he can adopt the cowboy attitude for something like this.

[identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com 2018-06-13 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
I like music that's fun. I don't like music that makes me cry.

I don't know... well, Greg calls him "Cowboy" in at least one series... so that might work.

[identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com 2018-06-18 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
For me, I like a mixture. I get bored too easily if everything is too similar. But listen to what you like, right?

Hah - it could work!

[identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com 2018-07-06 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I listen a lot in the car or walking--that more than anything so I need something that makes me move.

It could! I'll have to look at it. I might even have something similar somewhere.
