Tuesday Morning Ridiculousness
Because, yanno, we all need a good laugh, right?
I've been working on rebuilding my garden lately and have had mixed results. Some of my plants kicked the bucket. A couple of my plants got eaten by the Sunny Monster. Two are thriving.
So, I've been thinking about growing other things - less common things like potatoes or, hey, how about garlic?
Honestly, garlic wasn't even on my radar until I got an email from Burpee this morning. I was looking through their varieties and this, obviously, caught my attention for numerous reasons:

Apparently, the Romanians love their garlic (who doesn't?), and I often wonder how much this played into the whole vampire folklore thing, but that's another discussion for another time. Anyway, this intrigued me, so I went to read the reviews because I've never grown this kind of thing before and wanted to see what other people's results were like. And I found this gem of a review:

HAH! I love it. And I'm so tempted but I'm not sure if this is what I need to be doing right now. LOL Thoughts? Opinions? Am I nuts for even wanting to try and grow garlic? You would not believe how much I go through on a regular basis either.
I'm going to leave you with this little gem because it's highly representative of how I've been feeling lately.

Anyone know how to exit this chat 'cause I probably ought to do something productive today. :D

Just shared your post with J, and he wants to add that it's time to be scared if those chatting voices are making sense -- something we've both been known to experience as well.

I'll let you know, but I haven't managed it yet and I'm well, old. :D
Some days, the voices make more sense than I do. :)

You're only as old as you feel you are, but then, of course, with that in mind, there are times every one of us feels thousands of freaking years old . . .

He's right, but lately I've started to feel it a bit. Sometimes, I have plenty of energy, others, eh. Not quite. But I also have cervical spinal stenosis which causes radiating pain in my body so... I've felt 80 for about 10 years now. Hahaha. Yoga is my friend.

I need help, please send help. LOL

As for the chat room, when you figure that out tell me.

I know, right? Like don't you ever sleep in there?

Mine rarely shut up long enuff to let me sleep. That's what I get for having an overactive imagination.

I really have no life if this is what I'm excited about. :D
I'm telling you. And my kids wonder why I'm distracted all the time.

Why do I think you need to incorporate this into one of your Romani detective stories? Especially with Halloween on the horizon.

Yum garlic. *adds that to the list for the future garden* We're talking about building planting boxes, but my mom and I differ on how they'll be done. Oh well... maybe next year or the year after that.

Ah, I'd love some raised beds! But I don't really have the room, which sucks. So, I have pots and grow bags. I'm hoping the garlic ships soon so I can get it planted. But I'll let you know how it goes!

Well, he finally stopped being an a-hole and let me finish at least part of the story (I TBC'ed it for the anthology and will finish it later.)
Well my land is sloped so I'm not sure how I will do it, but I want waist high beds. Mom wants just boxes on the gound.
How grows the garlic?

That's good to hear.
Ah, that would make it more difficult. Google it and I'm sure you'll find a lot of inspiration.
I don't have any idea. I won't even have a clue if it's growing until springtime. It takes something like 9 month to grow.
