In the Dark Before Dawn (Common Law Drabble)

It was quiet and he savored the stillness for a long moment, knowing that it wouldn’t last. Before long, his cell would ring, someone would pound on his door. But for now, it was him and the silence.
His partner’s breathing was the only noise in the room, the soothing in and out of his lungs a soundtrack to the pre-dawn tranquility.
Wes gazed at Travis’ slumbering form, the darkness claiming everything but a small patch of his face that had been lit by the moonlight streaming in through the window. He could be quite the angel when his mouth wasn’t moving.
