Drabble written for Day 15 of the August Rush challenge over at
1_million_words. Photo prompts are here.
Fandom: Almost Human
Pairings: John Kennex+Dorian+Detective Paul
Rating: T for potty mouthed Kennex.
Summary: Either Dorian’s ignoring his orders or he’s screwing with him. Kennex is betting on the latter.
Author's Notes: After Dorian flipped that car, I can totally see him doing something like this, too. Why? Because he can. Almost double drabble at 181 words.
“Well, it looks like they aren’t going to give us any more trouble,” Detective Paul chuckled.
Kennex groaned. “Damnit, Dorian, I told you not to hit them so hard!”
Dorian frowned, tried to look sheepish but the idea wasn’t quite clear in his databases. “My apologies, John. I must not know my own strength.”
“Bullshit,” Kennex spat. “Your every move is carefully calculated to have the least impact but most effect so don’t give me that.”
Paul pointed to one of the bodies on the floor. “I think that one’s coming around, Kennex.”
“There’s going to be a lot of paperwork later,” Dorian stated, matter-of-fact.
“You can shut up anytime now, Dorian.” Kennex frowned and studied the bodies on the floor. “Okay, Paul, you grab his feet, I’ll get the arms and we can haul ‘em out of here.”
“I can help, too,” Dorian piped in, slinging an unconscious body over his shoulder before walking out into the hallway.
“I’m never going to get used to that,” Paul grinned, grabbing a pair of extra large feet.
“You and me both, pal.”
