The Towering TBR

I’d said a week or two ago that I’m going to try and focus on the books languishing on my Goodreads ‘currently reading’ shelf. Some that have been sitting on there since 2007. Yeah. I’m not very good at finishing things, am I?

On the bright side, I did manage to knock one off the list this morning. Finally finished The Silent Patient after starting it sometime last year. On the down side, I had a book come in from the library, so now I’m reading The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. You win some, you lose some. Haha.

The towering list:

Yeah, so that’s 35 books that I’m supposedly currently reading. Hahaha. In my defense, seven of them were library books that I wasn’t able to finish before they went back. One is a very long audio that I’m going to start back on now that I’m done with the other. The rest? There’s no excuse. I’m just… bad… about getting distracted.

Chainfire might have to wait a bit. The Sword of Truth books were one of Troy’s favorite series and I might cry going back to reading them before I’m ready. Also the one about the Ceausecus’ and the one about Trump both got to be too much (both at different times because HOO DOGGIES was Romania a mess of corruption, but damn if the US isn’t getting there at the moment), so I’ll go back to them both when I’m in a better state of mind.

So, if something sparks your interest, let me know. I might see if I can wedge it out of its spot and read it next. Also, if you feel the need to point out the fact that I obviously have a problem, then whatever. I know it, I’ve known it for a long time. There’s no help for me, but I’m trying, okay?

I guess at least I'm eclectic in my choices, eh?
