Author’s Notes: This exists in a vacuum outside of cannon. I can’t remember what spurred this idea, but once I had it, I needed to write it. Now that I have four chapters written, I thought I ought to start posting.

Also, I had originally called this You and Me, after a Lifehouse song that I love, but for some reason, an old song by Diamond Rio popped into my head and the chorus sealed the deal: In a week or two/I was gonna bring you diamonds/In a week or two/A long, long string of pearls and/We would've run down to the river at night/Sailed away, just me and you/In a week or two. Hopefully, by the end of this, that will make more sense to you, because it goes beyond the obvious.
