Mostly, I'm all for it.  I'm pretty good with a computer or a smartphone, although sometimes, things do throw me. But I can usually figure things out in a pinch.Read more... )

I cannot with people.  I've been reading more and more about how people's attention spans have shortened.  How movies have started repeating the plot points during the movie because they know the audience is on their phones, only paying half attention.  I know it's true, I've seen it.  But good lord, are you not paying attention at work, too?

A lady just called and asked for Joel. I told her he was on the other line and could I take a message or did she want to call back.  Her response?  "Is there a number I can reach him at?"

So, I'm thinking she wasn't listening to me until I asked if she wanted to leave a message.

Wish I had that option.  🤣🤣🤣

Anyway... if this is the most annoying thing that happens all day (considering I do work with Joel), I'll be grateful.

If you don't know what Finch is, it's a self-care app that lets you set goals for the day/week/whatever.  You can use it to journal, track your moods, and other things to help you get through the day.  I tend to use it more as a to-do list to remind me to get my exercise in, to drink my water, to do the little things I sometimes forget.  There are lots of good aspects to the app and I've been using it for way too long.  (I just looked and my birb is 4 years and 3 months old so yeah.)

Remember how Gandalf marked Bilbo's door so that the dwarves knew how to find him?  I swear to god he's been marking the front door of the office today because EVERY SALESPERSON IN THE COUNTY HAS STOPPED BY THIS MORNING.  And it's not even 9:30 yet, y'all.  🤣

Okay, back to payroll.

First, to the Knights: CAN WE PLEASE STOP TAKING EVERY GOD DAMNED GAME TO OVERTIME?  I'm sending Bill Foley the bill for my blood pressure medications that I'm sure to be on by the end of this season.  And no, boys, I do not care that you somehow managed to win last night either.
On to the things )

So, it's chilly here today - 43ºF/6ºC.  This is pushing my limit for cold, but those of you who live in a colder climate might feel differently.  I'm pansy when it comes to the cold though.  Hahaha.
Brrr )

Title: A Fishy Situation
Fandom: Romani Detective Original Fiction
Pairing: Gen
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1,999
Summary: Andrej comes home to find something unusual on his couch when returning home from yoga.
Author’s Note: I wrote this for the songfic challenge at 1-million-words.  It’s late and it’s very, very stupid, but hey, this fic is more than I wrote in all of November so, win?  The song I chose was Super Tuna by Jin.  I’d asked Kaige for a K-Pop song since I’d been having a run of days that left me feeling like nothing made sense.  Annnnnd… since I don’t speak Korean, I felt that this would best express how nonsensical everything felt at the time.  This is the fourth try to make something out of this song, so hopefully it’s at least amusing.

My computer updated and I cannot stand the new MS Office icons.  Hate.  Them.

I know, I'll eventually get used to them, but right now, I keep passing over Excel n the task bar becuase IT DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT.

Anyway.  First world problem, y'all.  Hopefully you got a chuckle out of this dumb little rant.

So, Gideon gave me a fright this morning.  Violet woke me up at 11:30, thne again at 12:30, wanting to eat both times.  The first time, the whole crew chased me down the stairs to eat.  The second, Gideon stayed snoozing on my bed.  This is not unusual, although the boy does like to eat.
