Yesterday, my boss got two separate calls from a jobsite superintendent saying that our guys weren't parking in the right place. Both times, Patrick responded right away and made our guy move his truck, especially since the second time, the super threatened to have the truck towed (which he had every right to do, honestly).
Patrick just called his brother here in the office to let him know that this superintendent found one of our trucks parked in the wrong spot again and, instead of calling to complain or simply calling to have it towed (which would both be reasonable responses), HE SPRAY PAINTED THE WINDOW OF OUR WORK TRUCK. Now, I know our plumber was in the wrong but how does that give you justification for vandalizing our property?
I am angry, astounded, and confused.
To make this sadly funny, the office brother - Tim - was out on a jobwalk this morning with the project manager for this same job and HE told Tim that WE were doing a great job. Yeah, apparently there is a lack of communication at this company.
I have no idea what Pat and Tim are going to do, but I hope they do raise a fuss because, wrong or not, the super had no right to do what he did. It makes me even angrier because our foreman on that job is Hispanic and if THAT has anything to do with how this super reacted, then we have a much more serious issue.
Okay, I'm done ranting. But during my nearly 20 years at this job, I have never heard of a superintendent going off the deep end like this.
