Oh, Nevada...

God love this state.
I'm applying for a business license in Mesquite, NV (approximately 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas) since my boss accepted a job there not realizing we weren't licensed. Um, oops?
Anyway, line item #12 on the application says: Type of business to be conducted. Easy - plumbing contractor. Then, beneath that it reads: Each type of business may require an additional license. (Sexually Oriented Business may require a differnt application.)
I cackled, I swear to god I laughed so loud... and since Mesquite is located in Clark County, this does NOT refer to the operation of a brothel (it's illegal in about 6 counties, Clark being one of them) but it still caught me off guard. I've applied for business licenses in many cities in several states (Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Ft. Worth, TX, The Colony, TX, San Antonio, TX), including most of the ones in the Las Vegas Valley area and never have I seen something like that on an application.
And now I can't stop thinking about the podcast I listened to this morning that said the secret to speaking Romanian is to relax your jaw and open your mouth (to articulate the vowels properly but hey...). Mihai, I'm not sure that it's appropriate for you or Eric to suggest this to me. But I'll pass the information on to Zayne. He might find it useful.
Don't say it... I already know I'm a giant dork bordering on a blathering idiot but... it's all part of my charm, right?
