Is it Friday yet?

It's only Wednesday but good lord, I am DONE with this week.
Nothing huge or horrible has happened, but I have been having the most stressful, emotionally exhausting week. I really need a vacation. Or a nap. Hell, I'll take a boss who doesn't wait beside my desk for me to arrive in the morning so he can ambush me before I even get to sit down (he likes to block my desk so I can't get to my chair).
Anyway, this will all pass. Right?
GOOD THINGS:
I'm down to only one medical bill still on my desk, and it's only $64. There's food in the house, the utilities are all paid until next month, and the cats are happy. Even if Sunny did leave a toy floating in the toilet for me to find this morning. Let me tell you, I about had a heart attack seeing something LARGE and YELLOW in the bowl at 5 AM. Hahaha. Freaking cat.
On the bright side, I finished this book today:

It wasn't the best thriller, but it kept me engaged. Even surprised me a few times. But, like I said in my review, I'm a bit of a gullible reader at times. *shrugs* I guess this comes from picking up my first mystery rather late in life (I was 25, I think). I'm extra impressed that I WROTE AND POSTED MY REVIEW THE DAY I FINISHED THE BOOK.
But my Netgalley feedback ration had slumped to like 76% so I had to do something. *snort*
Even better news is that this is my next book:

Is it just me or does the cover model look like Zachary Quinto in a cowboy hat? NO SYLAR, NOT THE COWBOY... *cough*
Where was I? Right. The book. I've never read this author before and this was a good choice because it's the first in a new series. And I've already been approved for the second in the series as well. I'm not sure if my Netgalley obsession is helping or hurting me currently, but I LIKE IT. Give me all the cowboys, thanks.
Is it weird that I think Zachary Quinto and I think psycho Sylar and NOT Spock?
Also, I borrowed this audiobook from the library because they didn't have a physical copy of the book nor did Overdrive or Hoopla have the ebook. So, I ran with the audio. Anyway, the book is called Perfume by Patrick Suskind and I went looking for it because apparently Netflix has made it into a series. It sounded... odd... so I thought reading it first would be better. Well, honey, the book is weird AF, too. Not sure this is going to help much. However, the gentleman narrating it is So. Very. British. And it's killing me listening to him at certain parts.
Anyway, I don't have to cook tonight and I could not be happier. One less thing to deal with tonight.
Hope your week has been going better than mine!
