Andrej’s horror at the sight of the sheets had amused Zayne to no end.
Although Zayne had initially picked them up as a joke, as soon as he’d run his fingers through the silky fabric, he knew he had to buy them. All he could think about while standing in line was getting his partner naked and between them as soon as possible, which is why he’d handed them over the second he’d walked through the door.
“I do not understand,” Andrej said as he took the gift, although the blush on his cheeks said otherwise. “Why did you buy me sheets?”
“The cowboy’s being kinky,” James offered from his spot on the couch. “Satin sheets are supposed to sexy.”
“They are,” Zayne said, rolling his eyes. “You’d know it if you’d ever had a chance to use a set.”
James laughed and Andrej’s face turned even redder, making Zayne wonder why he was so embarrassed. Andrej stared at the package in his hands, fingers toying with an exposed edge of fabric. Zayne hadn’t been able to find black, like he’d wanted, and white seemed too… too virginal for his tastes. So, he’d settled on the lilac. Yeah, it was an odd choice, but he knew how much the color would pop against Zeklos’ skin. His eyes darted to the redhead who was still engrossed in his magazine. James wouldn’t look half bad exposed against them either.
His eyes returned to the satin in Andrej’s hands. “Do we need to wash them before we put them on the bed,” Zayne asked, hoping the answer would be no.
Andrej swallowed. “We should.”
“But?” Zayne felt his heart kick up a beat or two at the thought he might be getting what he wanted sooner than expected. Easier than expected.
“But maybe we can wash them after,” Andrej said, stopping when he heard what he’d said. “I mean later.”
Zayne bit his lower lip to keep the laugher inside. “Sure,” he said, smiling at his partner. Boyfriend. “Want me to go put them on the bed?”
Andrej looked down at the sheets, running one hand over the top of them.
“Just do it,” James said, folding up his magazine and setting aside. “He’ll never say as much.”
It was true. Zeklos was much too reserved to ever hand the sheets over and tell him to hurry, even if that’s what his body language was screaming. So, Zayne took the sheets from Andrej and glanced at the redhead. “Come help me, narco.”
“Thought you’d never ask,” James said, standing and following Zayne down the hall. “You can come watch,” he said, calling back over his shoulder to Andrej, who was still standing there, looking one part horrified, two parts aroused.
**
Zayne didn’t think the reality could have been any better than his fantasies, but he was wrong. The feel of the sheets beneath his fingers, the solid form of his partner beneath his body, it was glorious. When he added in the warmth of the redhead behind him, the sheets draped over the top of the three of them, it was more than perfect. It was amazing, it was exciting, and it was right.
When they fell apart, sweaty, hot, and gasping for breath, Zayne buried his face in the satin-covered pillow, trying desperately to pull himself together. He could feel Andrej’s fingers skating along the skin of his arm. James’ lips were pressed to his shoulder. Everything was right with the world.
“I think,” Andrej said, stopping for a moment before starting over. “Did they… were there others, Zayne?”
It took him a moment to understand Zeklos was asking about sheets and not people. “Yes,” he said, nuzzling his partner’s neck. “Lots of colors, although no black like I’d wanted.”
James snorted and squeezed Zayne’s ass. “I would have pegged you for red, cowboy.”
“Mmm,” Zayne said, enjoying the slide of the ginger’s skin against his own. It was as nice as the sheets, he thought. “It was an option, but I thought these were nicer.”
“Not as racy,” Andrej said, kissing Zayne’s cheek.
“Now you really should have gotten them,” James said. “Imagine his horror at seeing sheets like that on his bed. Scandalous.”
“Jay,” Andrej said, the redhead’s name tapering off into a sigh as Zayne pressed his anxious body against Andrej’s. “Don’t tease.”
“Okay,” James said. “But Reyes and I are going back to that place later.”
“Yes,” Andrej agreed, as he was subtly maneuvered into the middle of the bed by Zayne. “We need another set, I think.”
“Fuck that,” Zayne said, sandwiching Andrej between himself and the redhead. “We need one for every night.”
“Amen,” James agreed. He draped an arm across Andrej’s middle and gave him a kiss. “But I guess we’ll have to make do with the one set we have for now because I can’t see us leaving this bed anytime soon.”
Andrej curled into James’ body, sighing. “You two are incorrigible,” he said, smiling as he did.
“You wouldn’t want us any other way,” Zayne muttered, wrapping himself around the backside of Andrej’s body. “Especially not right now.”
Chuckling, Andrej allowed himself to be kissed and caressed. “Shut up,” he said, biting Zayne’s lip before he could pull away.
“Can’t argue with that,” James said.
“Nope,” Zayne said. “Just like he can’t argue that these sheets were a good investment.”
He wasn’t about to give Zeklos – or the ginger – a chance to debate the point, however. Zayne had more important – and more enticing things on his mind. As it turned out, so did his boyfriends. Before falling headfirst into the chaos of hands and legs and mouths, he made a mental note to buy a set of every color sheets the linen store offered. He never wanted to be without a clean set. Because god only knew, these were going to need a serious wash once they were done.
