Wow, I can’t believe that it’s almost May. Yikes.

I had a better reading month this month, I think. Lots of manga, but overall, I did at least get some things finished, so that’s a plus.

What I read:

Yellow 2 Episode 2 by Makoto Tateno. A very strange sort of manga. Not sure it would have made any more sense even if I hadn’t accidentally picked up volume 2 before I read volume 1.

Bloody Monday Volume 1 by Ryou Ryumon. This was really pretty interesting if you’re into demons. Hahaha. Need to find the rest of the series now.

Blue is the Warmest Color by Julie Maroh. This broke my heart, but it was so good.
Undead and Undetermined by MaryJanice Davidson. This is #10 in the Queen Betsy series and… was okay. This alternate timeline shit needs to stop right now. (Sadly, it doesn’t, at least, not as far as I am into book #11 at the moment anyway). Betsy also needs to get her head out of her ass.

The Girl Beneath the Sea by Andrew Mayne. I grabbed this for review purely because it was one of two books the review site owner had still sitting on her desk. Man, such a good book. I’m really excited for the next in the series.

Breakfast Remix: 30 Creative Breakfast Recipes by Valeria Ray. Lies! Well, not complete lies. The things that were new or different to me weren’t anything I’d eat on a dare. Good for people who are struggling to find things for breakfast though
Muffin Tin Cookbook by Allie Allen. Mostly things I’d already heard or seen or made, but gave me a few new ideas as well.

The Royal Art of Poison: Filthy Palaces, Fatal Cosmetics, Deadly Medicine, and Murder Most Foul by Eleanor Herman. Now this was an interesting book. Took the royal court’s obsession with poison and murder and investigated what really happened. I was astounded to see the kind of crap people did in the name of beauty and health back in the day. The best part though was, when available, modern day autopsies and forensics were applied to the old cases to determine if it was murder or something else.

Not Your Idol Volume 1 by Aoi Makino. I’m ruing the day I discovered I could get manga from Netgalley. *sigh* But this one is really good.

Jace (Kings of Country #1) by Sasha Summers. This took me forever to get through and I don’t know why. The story was pretty good.

The New Husband by D.J. Palmer. What a freaky ass book. Intense and insane, that’s all I’m saying.

What I’m Reading Now:

Undead and Unstable by MaryJanice Davidson. If this whole alternate timeline doesn’t resolve itself soon, and if the plot doesn’t materialize, I might give up on this series completely. Which is sad because it was one of my favorites for many years.
Year One by Nora Roberts.

Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey.

You Can’t Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie.

Eventually, my library holds will all be read and my ARCs will be read and I can concentrate on getting some of the 26 ‘currently reading’ books off my Goodreads account. Hahaha.

My Netgalley shelf:

I’m finally getting this under control and – guess what? NOT REQUESTING MORE BOOKS. Well, I did request one last week, but it’s another manga and those take about an hour to get through.

A Spell for Trouble by Esme Addison (cozy mystery).

Blue Flag Volume 1 by KAITO (manga).

Spy x Family Volume 1 by Tatsuya Endo (manga).

Ping Pong Volume 1 by Taiyo Matsumoto (manga).

The Girl of Hawthorn and Glass by Adan Jerreat-Poole (young adult fantasy).

And that’s what my TBR insanity looks like for the moment. Trying to get through things that need to be read so I can get back to reading what I want. Not that I’m hating any of what I have to read but you know…
