Andrej looked at his watch. Zayne was late – again. Not that he was surprised, but it did leave him somewhat concerned. He’d left Zayne with a promise to be on time, something that he had become better at recently.
Ten minutes late wasn’t much, especially not for Zayne, but still, Andrej worried. It was who he was, how he rolled.
“There you are,” he said, seeing his partner approach from the lot. “Where have you been?”
Zayne smiled. “Out doing something nice,” he said, bringing his arm from behind his back. In his fingers he held a handful of wildflowers.
