I used to play with graphics a lot, but it's a very time consuming thing and I eventually put it to the side for other things like... my kids. But lately, I've gotten the bug to start playing again. Generally, this means I make an icon or something that doesn't take (me) long.
And then, there are days like today, where I feel the need to look at something pretty and I wind up with a wallpaper celebrating... wait for it... my own original work.
I'm not sure if this makes me excessively egotistical or just an epic dork. (I'm betting on the latter, although the former might even apply in this case). Andrej is played by Henry Cavill. And this is purely by accident... I stumbled across a picture of him and said YES. THAT'S MY ANDY. Zayne, on the other hand, took some time. I think I Googled something like 'Hispanic actors' or something and found one Erasmo Viani, a Brazilian model. And man is he oh so freaking pretty.
Do you care? Probably not. And in case you're wondering, yes I do have four different programs for reading ebooks on my work computer. You mean you dont? I should probably be thankful right now that I've mostly cleaned up all the books I've been reading lately as well. :D Oh, and yes... if you're also wondering... I am old school and use PSP instead of Photoshop. Why? Mostly because I could afford PSP. Hahahaha. Haha. Ha.
You can click on the top image to be taken to the full-sized version of this. It's 1680x1050 because I like big resolution (I cannot lie... heh). Now I just need to find a more appropriate model for Ethan so I can make myself a White Pine wallpaper. I mean, it's not like I have all that many photos of my model for Travis... *cough* liar *cough*.
So, I have to ask... is this weird that I did this? I mean... when it comes to fanfic, it's NBD because there are tons of wallpapers, screencaps, etc already, right? So, what's one more? But when it's some insanity that's sprung from my personal brain? I don't even know.
Currently, I have a Warren Kole wallpaper on my desktop that I also made myself. What's on yours? Inquiring minds and all that rot.

Date: 2015-08-27 09:27 pm (UTC)Second: THAT IS BEAUTIFUL. Nicely done! I do wish I knew more about graphics programs and how to use them because I would ADORE to do such things for myself. And if you think you're mad for doing this for your own characters, try this! I had to get someone else to make the graphic (because I had NO clues in 2007, and I'm ONLY just able to do slightly better eight years later! I don't even know what PSP is, and have barely touched on using PS because my graphically inclined daughter showed me a few basics), but yes, I did search high and low to find the perfect 'Jimmy' and 'Doug'.
HA! I have exactly ONE program for reading e-books and have read exactly none on it because I'm so old school, I'm still using paper-based books. HA! Which reminds me that I should actually read that one book I downloaded the app in order to read it for... ulp!
OOOH! I meant to say, because you mentioning Warren Kole reminded me, I have been watching The Following S3 (I think? The latest one, anyway) and remembering that your buttercup was in S1 got me all excited FOR YOU when I saw who just appeared in S3... and he's a murderously cool dude too... MICHAEL EALY. I mean, what are the odds? Did you know? Are you watching? Did you want to see him kill people in cold blood and then go home to his lovely family?
And currently for my home wallpaper, I have just put in a pic I had of Jack & Ianto from Torchwood, because my second daughter and I both ship them (yes, my 16 yo is also a slasher)! I keep meaning to change it to one of the walls my friends have made me, because I only put it up to make N2D smile when she saw it!, but I haven't got around to it lately.
DORKS UNITE!!!!

Date: 2015-08-27 09:40 pm (UTC)OMG, THANK YOU! And I love that graphic for your fic, too. Casting your own characters is both a ton of fun and a PITA. Let me tell you, I only know what I know through trial and error. Much more error than trial. :) And PSP = Paint Shop Pro, the poor man's version of PS. :D
Hahaha... I was the same way for SO LONG and then carpal tunnel kicked my ass. (Another reason I gave up playing with graphics, it was too hard on my hands and wrists). It's so much easier to use my Kindle than it is to hold an actual book. And they're cheaper/free on Kindle, too.
I have not watched S3 yet! I'm waiting for it to pop up on Netflix because I've heard he was SO GOOD in that. I can't believe he was playing such a bad guy after all the low-key, goofy guys he's played. In a week or two, he has a new movie coming out as well called The Perfect Guy. Talk about creepy. YIKES.
Captain Jack! :D I really need to go back and watch Torchwood. I think I got through the first season and then something happened and I never got back to it. I love that your daughter is a slasher right along with you. Aw, and that's sweet of you to put it up to make her smile! I usually change mine at work daily because it's a nice way to start my morning. :D
WE SHALL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
