Since I don't have payroll this morning... I have nothing on my plate until later in the day. So... watch out.
So first, I plan on getting some writing done. I have like a chapter and an epilogue to finish my WIP, so that makes me happy. But this last chapter is smutty as hell so it's going to be a challenge (in more than one way). I love making playlists for my characters as well as for my individual stories. So far today, I have two songs stuck in my head relating to the chapter I'm working on:
Thomas Rhett's Crash and Burn:
(He's so damn cute, he looks just like his papa, Rhett Akins.)
The other is kind of funny when you think about what I'm writing (a messy threesome with an implied love triangle that's been going on for a bit)... because it's Maroon 5's Figure It Out.
(Sorry there's no actual video... not a song M5 ever released that I know of.)
And speaking of Adam Levine, let me transition into a little rant re: The Voice.
I think it was last season when Gwen gave Craig Wayne Boyd a makeover. Cleaned him up, gave him a hair cut, etc. and he went on to win. #TeamBlake, just sayin'. That's fine because sometimes we all need a day at the spa, right? Last night I was watching Monday's episode and saw she gave one of her female team members (Ellie? I don't remember) a makeover as well. She looked really nice, but pretty much all Gwen did was cut off a chunk of her hair, her style and whatnot remained pretty much the same. Either way, I'm sure it made Ellie feel better, prettier, more confident. All A+ things.
Then I saw Braiden.
I'm going to admit, I have a thing for boys with crazy curls. My first crush, back in like the third grade, was on a dark-haired, blue-eyed boy named Mark who had a headful of these crazy waves. I think he's what hooked me (even though he'd gone bleach blond sk8tr boi by high school). Blake cutting his hair in 2006 or so only made it stick harder (go check out the video for Don't Make Me if you want to see what I mean). *tears eyes of soaking wet cowboy* Where was I? Right. Curls. And Braiden Sunshine.
Braiden's only fifteen and cute as a freaking little button, but Gwen will not leave his messy curls alone. Now, he looked adorable on Monday night, but not only does Gwen keep straightening his curls, but she's making him take off his glasses, too. And as far as I'm concerned, she's taking away all his character. The kid has an AMAZING voice, but good lord, Gwen. I got rather annoyed last night after his performance because, as he's talking to Adam, Braiden says something like, "I don't have my glasses, so I can't see you." Wait, what? Someone eventually brought him his glasses so he could gaze upon the beauty that is Adam. *coughs*
His Monday night performance:
This kid kills me. Even though he's #TeamGwen, I'd love for him to win. Also: not nearly enough Blake and Adam banter on Monday night, although Blake did get under Adam's skin with his quip about how Gwen was kicking Adam's but that night. Heh. I'm sure Blake will make nice later and um, apologize or something.
(Yes I'm in strict denial of the Blake/Gwen relationship, so sue me. I wasn't any less delusional when he started dating Miranda either.)
Anyway, I got sidetracked so I think there was something else but now i can't remember. Ugh. Oh well. I guess I'll go back to my smut mongering now. Poor Zek. Just sayin'.

Date: 2015-11-13 11:16 am (UTC)"Figure It Out" is one of the Maroon 5 songs that gets stuck in my head for days at a time :P lol... LOVE it!
I agree with you re: Gwen's making over of Braiden, he was totally adorable as he was. I hope she doesn't change him too much.
Personally, I'm not so much in denial about Blake/Gwen as I am ... entertaining interesting threesome type ideas ;) lol... that really sweet pic Adam tweeted of the three of them didn't help. Not a bit. :P

Date: 2015-11-13 04:54 pm (UTC)Yes - that and "Wake Up Call" are two of my favorites. They get in your head and you can't shake 'em. :)
I hope she doesn't either. He's a cutie pie as is, and has an amazing voice. Why screw with his outside when his inside is what people want?
OMG... HAHAHAHA. Oh, I bet it didn't! I love it though... even Adam is involved now. :D
