Title: Battle of the Boyfriends Chapter 3 [Final]
Fandom: Romani Detective original fiction
Pairing: Andrej Zeklos/James Rosewood/Zayne Reyes
Rating: NC-17 for suggestive smuttiness
Word Count: 2,746
Summary: Since neither Zayne nor James will relent, Andrej has decided to take desperate measures.
Author’s Note: I hope that this has lived up to your expectations, [livejournal.com profile] sharpiesgal.  Oh, and the plot bunny feeder is open again.  :D  Also, the last comic I stumbled across in my mass collection of funnies and had the same reaction as Andy does later on.  Couldn’t NOT include that, not after… well, you’ll see.

Continued from here.

Hilary picked the book up and flipped through the pages.  “So, instead of getting better, things are only escalating?”

Zeklos nodded, peeling the yellow sticky note off the front of the book.  We’ll see who the best man really is, Zayne had scrawled across the note in pink marker.  “They are beginning to give me an ulcer, I believe.”

“Redheads can be like that,” Hilary joked, elbowing her partner in the side.  “We need to figure out a way to make them make nice.”

“And I have just the idea,” Trish said, ignoring Hil’s dig.  “When Andy was camped out at my house a few weeks ago, he was showing me pics of our two troublemakers being nice to each other.”  She cut her eyes to Andrej and her smile turned mischievous. “Much to my surprise, there were a few rather racy photos on his phone as well.”

Both girls turned their gazes on Zeklos.  Blushing, he fiddled with the book in his hands.  “Why are you looking at me like this?”

He’d meant to delete them as soon as he’d taken them but had found himself uncharacteristically attached to a handful of photos.  Zayne and James half naked and kissing.  A fully naked Jay pinning an equally naked Reyes to the couch.  Yeah, some were harder to delete than others, but thankfully neither Zayne nor Jay had any idea Zeklos even possessed the photos.  Sadly, Trish did.  Excited to show Trish how happy they were, he’d flipped through one too many photos that night.  He made a mental note to never drink in her presence again.

“Andrej Zeklos,” Hilary said, putting her hands on her hips. “What is your middle name anyway?  I think I need that to fully express the depth of my shock right now.”

Making a face, Zeklos shook his head, denying her the information she sought.  “What is there to be shocked about?”

Hilary crossed her arms and leaned back against Reyes’ desk.  “Of all the people to have naked pictures on their phone, you are the last I’d have ever suspected.”

“Which is why I brought it up,” Trish said, sliding her backside onto the desk beside Hil.  “Reyes and Rosewood won’t see this coming.”

“I don’t know if this is a good idea,” Zeklos hedged once Trish had laid out her plan.  “This is sure to bite me in the – I don’t even know where it’ll bite me.”

“In the ass, most likely,” Trish suggested. “But if it shuts these two up, don’t you think it’s worth it?”

“I do,” Hilary agreed, raising her hand like she ranked a vote in this situation.  “C’mon, Andy.  Not like this could make shit any worse than it already is.”

Trish reached into Andrej’s pocket and retrieved his phone.  “Okay, first we need to download Snapchat onto your phone…”

“You and that ridiculous app,” Hilary teased.

“It’s the safest way,” Rollins explained.  “The pics will disappear after a few seconds, although I don’t doubt Reyes knows he can screenshot anything he wants to keep.”  She talked as she typed, pausing to look up at Andrej for a long moment.  “Hmm… what should your username be?  Never mind, I got it.”

Zeklos looked at Maxwell and she shrugged in response.  He was relatively certain that he wasn’t going to like whatever she chose, so he let it go.

“Is that why you’re going to threaten to post them on Instagram if they don’t behave?  Because those don’t disappear unless you make them disappear?”

“Pretty much,” Trish said, never looking up.  “Okay, I’ve got you set up and added both the cowboy and the narco to your friends list.  Now, find that pic of the two of them smooching.”

“I still do not like this,” Zeklos murmured as he pulled up the photo.  “What do I do now,” he asked, holding the phone out so the girls could see.

“First, don’t show those pics around unless you want those two pissed,” Trish instructed.  Taking the phone from him, she typed a simple message and hit send.

“What did you write,” Hilary asked, leaning into Trish’s shoulder.

“Just ‘why can’t we get along’.  I thought that would get their attention.”  Trish looked at Zeklos.  “I also figured that wouldn’t tick them off too much.”  Andrej’s phone dinged in Trish’s hand and she frowned at what she saw. “Okay, so maybe I was wrong. “

She motioned Zeklos to come sit beside her.   Taking the vacant spot of desk next to Trish, he looked at the photo on the phone.  It was a shot of Reyes’ angry face.  The comment across the photo read Where did you get that pic?

“You sneaky little thing,” Maxwell scolded. “They don’t even know you took the pics?”

Before Zeklos could answer, Trish was waving the phone again.  This time it was a picture of James’ stereo displaying the current song on his iPod.  Bad Romance indeed, the snap said.  “Hah, at least the ginger’s got more of a sense of humor today,” Trish said.  “But seriously, Andy, who knew you had that level of kink in you?”

“Other than his boy toys,” Hilary laughed.

“Please stop,” he grumbled, rubbing his hands across his face.  It was bad enough they both knew he had dueling boyfriends, he didn’t need to be teased about the fact.

“Okay,” Trish said, turning back to Andrej’s phone.  “Time to step up the threat.”  She flicked through the handful of naughty photos Zeklos had stored on his phone and stopped at what she thought to be the most incriminating.  “Oh yes, this will do nicely.”

Andrej glanced at the photo she chose and quickly looked away.  He’d been embarrassed when he took the photo, but he’d done it anyway, unable to resist capturing his two favorite people, his two loves, in such an intimate embrace.  And now Trish and Hilary were privy to it as well.

“Oh hello,” Hilary sighed.  “Damn, he might be an absolute pain in my ass, but there’s no doubt that Reyes is one fine piece of man meat.  I hope you’re enjoying him, Andy.”

He had been, right up until Zayne and James had decided to go to war.  Giving the photo a second glance, he felt less embarrassed.  The three of them had been so happy that night and the photo only told part of the story. James was flat on his back with Zayne straddling his chest.  Reyes had braced himself against the headboard of the bed, cock fitted fully in the redhead’s mouth.  James’ fingers gripped Zayne’s hips, encouraging.  It had been the sexiest, most intimate thing he’d ever witnessed, watching Zayne sliding in and out between James’ lips.  His six-pack rippled with each back and forth, their eyes locked on one another like no one else in the world existed but the two of them.

Zeklos hated to admit it, but if anything caught their attention, it would be that photo.  The others while suggestive weren’t anywhere near this explicit.  He knew he’d pay for it, but he nodded.  “Send it.”

Trish typed her message and hit send.  “Here you go,” she said, handing him his phone back. “I hope this brings those two idiots to their senses.”

“And if it doesn’t?”  It was his biggest fear.

“We’ll go with plan b,” Trish shrugged.  “Go home, wait for their response.  Then screenshot it, because I want to see that!”

“Ditto,” Hilary said, grinning.

“I doubt they’ll comply,” Andrej said, thinking about her message of ‘Make up or this goes on Instagram next.  Proof please.’  “Knowing Jay and Zayne they might start a bigger fight.”  And include the girls in their asinine games this time.

“I doubt it,” Hilary said, giving Andy a hug.  “Shocking as it may sound, Zayne can be a private person when he wants to be and I doubt he wants his cock all over the internet.”

“Pity,” Trish said. “I’m not even into cock and I can see it’s a nice one.”

Doamne ajuta-ma,” Zeklos whispered, rubbing his temples.  He’d never asked God for so much help in his entire life.  “I will call with any news,” he said, standing up and walking out of the station.

xx

It wasn’t quite eight o’clock when Zeklos’ phone dinged.  Picking up the phone, he saw a text from Zayne.

We’re not playing Trish’s Snapchat game, Z.  And we know it was her, too.

Smiling, he texted back.  It appeared that the stunt had gotten through to them anyway.

Are you forfeiting your relationship with me because you cannot get along with Jay?

His phone was quiet for too long.  When the text arrived, Andrej jumped.

Now don’t get hasty, baby.  We’ve… talked… and I think we’ve come to an agreement.

But we’re not snapchatting a picture proving it.

Fair enough, Zeklos thought.  He hadn’t figured they would.

Will you show me proof?

The return text was almost immediate.

Can we come inside and show you in person?

Andrej looked up and realized that he could hear a car idling in his driveway.  How long had those two been out there?

Yes, please.

A few moments later, James and Zayne entered the living room, stopping approximately eighteen inches from where Andrej sat, waiting.  Each of his boys wore an expression of regret, although hope sparkled in their eyes.  “Have you truly worked out your differences?”

“Mostly,” James said, trying for honesty.  “I think we’ll always have these little issues.”

“We’re too much alike,” Zayne agreed.  “Even if he won’t admit to it.”

They could work around that, everyone had their annoying quirks.  And these two shared a fair amount of aggravating habits, it wasn’t any wonder that they got on each other’s nerves as much as they did.  “Promise me you will not allow any future arguments to escalate to this level again.”  Zeklos looked from blue eyes to green eyes, hoping for the best.

“No promises,” Zayne said.

“But we’ll try,” James finished.

It was all he could ask.  “I can accept that,” Andrej said.  “However, if you start another silly argument like this one, you will be looking for a new boyfriend,” he said, looking at James.  Turning his gaze back to Zayne, he added, “And you will be looking for an apartment.  “Înțeleasă?”

“Uh, maybe?”  Zayne looked at James and rolled his eyes.

“Whatever you said, okay,” Rosewood agreed.

“Good,” Zeklos stated, putting his book aside – his third one in as many days since Zayne kept hijacking them – and smiled up at his boyfriends.  “Now you need to give me proof that you’re sincere.”

“I think we can do that,” Zayne grinned.

“What the cowboy said,” James agreed.

It was nearing midnight when Zeklos slid the placeholder back into his book.  Tossing the paperback, it landed loudly on the nightstand.  Neither man sleeping on either side of Andrej so much as snorted in their slumber.  James’ red head was pillowed on the left side of Andrej’s chest, his hot breath heating Zeklos’ skin.  Zayne was curled comfortably into Zek’s right side, softly snoring.  His boys looked so peaceful and at ease, he wished he could keep them like this forever.  It was almost as if their little disagreement hadn’t ever happened.

A thought occurred to Andrej, bringing a smile to his face.  The only drawback to sleeping in the middle was that his cellphone was stuffed under his pillow on the off chance it rang in the middle of the night.  He’d climbed over James once to get at it, a feat he’d rather not repeat in the future.  Or, at least, not for that reason.  Climbing Jay for other, more intimate reasons was always worth pursuing.

Once he had his phone in hand, he opened the camera app and angled it so that all three of them were in the shot.  Smiling at the photo he captured, Zeklos felt more content than he had in a week.  He moved to put the phone back under his pillow when he hesitated.  Feeling as mischievous as Zayne must on any given day, he sent off a quick text to Trish and Hilary, attaching the photo.

All is once again well.

Curious, he waited a few heartbeats to see if either responded.  Trish, as always, didn’t disappoint.

Guess this answers the question of who gets stuck in the middle.

She had no idea.

It is by far the best place in this bed.  Good night, Trish.

James stirred beside him and Andrej smoothed back his coppery hair, calming his restless lover.

Good night, Andy.

Satisfied that he could safely retire, he put his phone back where it had been and reveled in the heat of his boyfriends’ bodies.  This was definitely the best place in the bed.  It was often even the prime spot between Zayne and Jay, too, although he wasn’t ever against a little variety in that aspect of their relationship.

xx

“I’m going to head to the station, Zek.”

Glancing up from the paper, Andrej frowned.  “Already?  It is early for you, Zayne.”

“I know,” he said, coming over and giving his boyfriend a more than friendly kiss goodbye.  “But I also know I left the brunt of the paperwork for you to deal with the last few days.  Thought I’d go in early and tackle some of it, try and help out.”

That was definitely a switch.  As much as Andrej loved and adored Zayne, he wasn’t blind to the fact his partner had a distinct habit of avoiding any scrap of paperwork.  “That is very adult of you,” he teased, hating the loss of Zayne’s lips on his own.

Reyes ruffled Andrej’s hair with his fingers.  “I’ll see you in an hour, baby.”

“Drive safe,” Andrej said out of habit.  “And no taunting Jay if you run into him.”

“After last night?”  Zayne opened his eyes wide, mocking.  “I’d never taunt him after that.”

“Go,” Zeklos said, waving towards the door.  The last thing he needed right then was a rehashing of what they’d done only hours ago.  Neither he nor Zayne would make it to work on time if that happened.

The door to the garage closed and he could hear the rollup lifting in the distance.  He’d taken two bites of his toast when the door from the garage into the house opened again and a grumbling, angry Reyes stormed back into the kitchen.  “He promised,” Zayne growled, slamming a piece of paper onto the table next to Andrej’s plate.  [3]

Putting his toast down, Zeklos flicked his glance at the paper and nearly choked on his breakfast.  “Oh Jay,” he said, fighting laughter.

“Oh no,” Zayne said, hands up. “Not you, too, Zek.  I thought you were on my side.”

“I am, Zayne,” Andrej laughed. “But you have to admit, after what happened with the clowns during the convention…”  His voice trailed off and he gave into the urge to laugh.  Zeklos wasn’t happy that James had taken one last potshot at Zayne, but he had to admit, it was damn funny.

Frowning, Zayne grabbed the paper off the table and looked at it again. “I guess on the bright side, he’s at least insinuating my cock is long enough to tie into balloon animals.  There is that.”

Andrej had been so close to regaining his composure until that very vivid image popped into his mind.  “I’m sorry,” he begged, wiping away the tears streaming down his cheeks.  “But the idea that Jay could even…”

Reyes shook his head and kissed Andy’s cheek.  “I’ll let the captain know you’re going to be late,” he said lightly.  “Just don’t let that um, entertaining image, distract you for too long.”

Once he’d finally gotten a hold of himself, Zeklos sent off a text to James, half warning, half approval.

That was NOT very nice, Jay.  But it WAS very funny.

He took a long drink of orange juice and waited for James’ reply.

Do I need to worry about retaliation?

Andrej replied back cryptically.

Not retaliation but possibly restitution?

Despite the fact that Zayne had finally found the humor in the comic, Andrej was positive he’d extract his own, very personal sort of revenge on the redhead.  Quite possibly, that repayment might start out with one of them on their knees.  And for once, it wouldn’t be Andrej in that position.

Not that he minded, not one damn bit.  But diversity can be a very, very good thing.

I can't believe Andy had that level of kink in him either, but it was an image worth capturing for posterity. ;)

I think somebody is going to be giving out
