Distracted... as usual

My work computer was refusing to connect to the network so I had to restart it – twice – before it’d play nicely. While said computer was pouting, I scrolled through Pinterest. The first thing I found was this:

This is one of those things that not a lot of people probably understand. I’m willing to bet that a couple of writers I know (none of ya’ll though, promise) wouldn’t quite understand either. I remember a friend of mine being extremely concerned once when I said something about ‘hearing’ one of my characters talk to me. She thought I needed a doctor. I told her all I needed was a pen and a stack of paper and she’d shut up.
For me, this even goes past my own writing to the books and fic I read as well. I finished a book not too long ago and my biggest complaint is that there wasn’t more. But like, what happens in the future? When mom gets out of jail (seriously, grandma went to jail for her daughter, it was a great book)? WHAT NEXT? Yeah, I’m needy and I need answers. But this is how my mind works.
(Weird side note – Word tells me it should be ya’ll even though my phone just autocorrected it to y’all in a text. WTF? Zayne, care to weigh in on this? Can’t say I ever saw it in print the year and a half I lived in Houston.)
Then, I found this and had to laugh:

Three guesses as to who first popped into my mind here.
Lastly, I don’t generally read a lot of romance, mysteries and fantasies are more my speed. But, as of late, a billion and one cowboy romances have been catching my attention. Mostly because of covers like this:

Yes ma’am, you are welcome. But yanno, I wouldn’t exactly turn this kind of thing down, either:

Why can’t James Patterson and Tess Gerritsen have covers like this?
Yeah, I know, I need help. Or, at least, a job without continual internet access because I am getting NOTHING done this morning.
Până mai târziu... (until later)
