Yesterday, I noticed I was almost out of protein powder. I make a smoothie every morning to take to work with me and my girls generally have one every day, too, so the shit goes fast in my house. So, with school starting, I knew I needed to get more. But, since I'm too damn lazy to go to GNC and get it myself, I ordered from Amazon.

I'm also mildly amused that it was cheaper through Amazon than through Quest itself, even though it's sold BY Quest on Amazon. But I digress.

Anyway, Amazon shows up at the office and I'm suddenly confused. I've been trying to ship everything to the house because, on the off chance my boss gets a hold of a box before I do, he opens it without looking at the label. Not that I'm ordering anything sketchy but still. I figure maybe I didn't choose the right address and take the box upstairs. I open it, see the container and confirm it's my protein powder. I go to delete the email with the tracking info and see that the picture has a blue label (I bought cookies & cream because I'm an ADULT) and the one on the container in my possession is green.

Color me completely confused.

The protein powder I received is cold brew coffee latte and not cookies and cream. So, my question is this: WHO THE HELL SENT ME PROTEIN POWDER? TO MY OFFICE NO LESS. I think I know who it was but I am sitting here, scratching my head, wondering what the hell is going on in my life.

Note: I did confirm who sent it to me. When I first saw that Quest even made a coffee flavored protein powder, my boss told me I was not allowed to have it because, "You'd be on the ceiling, Amy." Well, I joked about this on Facebook and now I have a 2 lb container of caffeine to go. Hahaha.

Some of my friends are absolute pains in the ass, but I have a few good ones, too. Even if they're trying to make me think I've lost my mind.

I know, I'm excited to try it out! I need to stop and get some chocolate almond milk though because I'm thinking that would be epically amazing.

Funny... my friend sent it to me just to annoy my boss. :D

Yeah, she's really good to me and I'm very lucky. To have both of you because my shirt is out for delivery, too. :D

And I mean, how can you not love chocolate almond milk? Unless you hate almonds. :D

Yeah... one of my co-workers is like that. Weirdo. (But I love him anyway because he's nice and his wife is the best.)

I AM SO LIVING THE DREAM! I have everything I need to wreak havoc on the world! In English and Romanian!

Puts hand up. Almonds freak me out, they taste so bad. LOL

Hah! I do remember you telling me about your aversion once upon a time. :D I don't think almond milk tastes like almonds though, but maybe I'm weird that way.

Yeah, other people tell me that too, but they need to change the name if they want me to drink it! The word 'almond' itself is so off-putting when you don't like them; in all honesty I can't make myself try it for fear I'll have to spit it out!

I feel that way about avocados, so I get it. It's weird because I like this avocado cream dressing that you often get on fish tacos over here, but to eat guacamole or something? EW.

Oh wow! Hey, I know what - you eat my almondy stuff and I'll eat your avocadoey things! WIN-WIN!

(it might come to that in less than SEVEN WEEKS! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!)

That works!

Holy guacamole! I can't believe it's that close already!

I know! We are getting more excited by the day. K and I are just trying to work our way through the things we want to do that need booking in advance, so we can book them at least a month beforehand. Oh, and Hubby and I need to get our visa-waivers done before too much longer - I think I put a reminder on my phone for early September. They're usually quite quick, but I want to make sure there's a bit of leeway in case something goes wrong (not that it should), while still leaving it fairly close to departure, as they last for multiple journeys over two years, and we might travel thru the US again in early 2020... would be good for it still to be valid, rather than just expired like the ones we got before our Hawaii trip in 2016... which expired in August, dammit!

Ugh, I can't even imagine what kind of hassle international travel is. Last year, my boss was getting ready to go to Spain and realized like two weeks prior that his passport was expired. It was a mess. He got his passport in the mail like the day before they were scheduled to leave.

It is a lot of checking and rechecking, and not being complacent about anything, but it's SO WORTH IT. I travelled a lot in my younger years (spent 6 & 1/2 years out of NZ from 23-30 years old, doing what is known in NZ as OE - Overseas Experience - and it was such a blast!). I love travelling and seeing different places, and only wish someone had suggested TOURISM/TRAVEL as a job for me when I was 20!!! We had no one helping us decide on careers (and my mum left school at 13 to work in a shop and then picking fruit until she got married and had kids!) so I had NO CLUE about anything like that back then! *sigh* Too late now! HA!

Having kids meant all our resources were spent on providing to their needs once we married, so Hawaii in 2016 was the first time we'd been out of the country since 1995, and now we have things a little more comfortable, we are determined to do a bit more travel while we still can. I will be happy if we can do the UK and some of Europe around 2020 (about 6 weeks with luck) and then my other dream is Peru (Macchu Pichu and the Nazca Lines) after that when we can save enough, and then I will be happy to stay in NZ and travel around here a bit more when we can (we've seen a fair bit now; really only have the bottom half of the South Island to check out that we haven't done), if we don't go on any further overseas trips! I would just travel and travel if I could afford it, though!!!

I think that might be my problem - I had my kids young-ish (25 and 27). So, I'm looking forward to a time when Troy is healthy and the kids are on their own. Although, Tay wants to visit Croatia and I want to visit Romania and my husband and the other kid think we're nuts. So, maybe the kid and I will go travel Eastern Europe together? Hahaha.

That sounds like an excellent plan! There is a lot to visit here in the US as well, or even Canada and Mexico which isn't too far to travel, depending. My boss actually has a time share in Peru. His um... *roommate* is from Peru originally, so they visit a couple times a year. He likes it because it's out of the country but still in the Eastern Time Zone which is only a three hour time difference from where we are. I do hope you get to go to Europe and the UK though!

I would say that you and 'the kid' should definitely travel together to see the places you each want to see, when you get to a point that you can do it. You'll have a blast! If the others don't want to, well, so be it!

Yeah, the US and Canada do have so much to see - thankfully I was lucky enough to live in both for a short part of my travels, so I got to see a fair bit of East Coast US, and I travelled right across Canada by train (although the furtherest north I got was New Brunswick), but there's still so much more I would go see if I could! And I'd very much like to see some of Mexico too, so who knows, maybe I can tack that onto the Peru trip!!!

I love how you describe the *roommate*! Haha, we all know what that means. Good on him visiting Peru a lot! I love ancient civilisations and the evidence left of them, hence my great interest in Peru, but really, I'd love to see ALL of Central and South America for that history... but I know I'll just have to make do with a small portion of it, because it'd cost too much to do a lot more. *sigh*
