They've been making posts like this since school started and I love it. Not so much for the shame factor, but to make others aware of what not to do in a school zone or near a school. Although this? This deserves to be shamed.

And yes, I understand exactly how depressing it is that the LVMPD has its own branch just to patrol our local schools.

(I also know I've made entirely too many posts today, sorry.)

I'm not sure I understand what they're saying, but the hashtags are cool. If I'm understanding correctly, they're patrolling to ensure parents/others around schools are obeying the rules around schools? Because if that's right, that is awesome! I wish they had enough staff in the police force to do that here! People are SHOCKING, and parents can sometimes be the worst! My son nearly got run over once because some parent decided to pull into the school driveway (short and gated and fully informed in school notices that people are NOT allowed to park there for drop-off, due to kids crossing it to get into the school entrance) when he and my husband were crossing it, because as the other parent said to my hubby, he didn't want his kid 'to get run over'. *rolls eyes*

I think what happened was they stopped two different people at the same spot, both of which had warrants (meaning they never went to court for their previous tickets) for doing the same thing that got them ticketed the first time. But yes, they've really cracked down on the traffic around the schools this year, which is amazing!

OMG, your poor son (and husband, too)! And that's the thing that gets Troy - the parents are always the worst offenders!

Ah! I was completely missing that; God knows what's happened to my comprehension skills! Might just be a slightly different way of wording things from how we do here, but I could not quite grasp it! I get it now though, so thanks! People are so STUPID generally; it does not surprise me that they were doing the same thing again. "Uh, what's wrong with this? I do it all the time."

YES! And yet, they should be thinking about the kids - do they want their own kids hurt? NO. And the other kids? Uhhhh... I definitely feel like we are letting too many dumb people stay alive. LOL.
