I probably could have also titled this, "Things that only happen to me because I'm an idiot", but I didn't. So there.

Yesterday, I got to work, booted my computer, and opened up the Kindle for PC app. I use it to read during the day between projects or during lunch. Anyway, I went to click on the book I'd been reading - #MurderTrending by Gretchen McNeil - and discovered it wasn't the first book in my library (it defaults to the most recently opened or downloaded). Something else was there.

I likely made a face at my computer while trying to figure out where this new book - A Catered Murder - came from. Figuring I likely pre-ordered it or bought it on the cheap and forgot about it, I opened the proper book and got to work.

As the day went on and I got my email cleaned out, I stumbled across an email from Goodreads telling me that I was a winner. Score! Free books! Well, guess what book I'd won? A CATERED MURDER. LMAO. God, I'm an idiot sometimes. But, in my defense, I'm constantly entering Goodreads giveaways and almost never win. (I've been using GR since 2006 and have won three times...)

So, yeah, that's a day in my life. LOL Talk about first world problems, eh?

I assume these giveaways are only for US citizens? I can't say I've ever seen a giveaway on Goodreads, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place! ;-)

I'm not sure. I get emails when a book on my TBR is having a giveaway. But, if you go to the homepage, click on Browse then Giveaways, you can see all that are available. I know I've seen a lot that were US and Canada, but maybe if you look for Aussie or NZ authors they might be available in your area?

I'll check that out, but suspect I'll be disappointed. Not that it matters, since I have so many still to be read! ;-)

Hopefully you can find some to enter. But yeah, same. I have more than I'll probably manage to read in my lifetime.

I went to look, but it says that currently only the USA and Canada have access to Giveaways. It does say they hope to expand it, but there's no indication of when that will be. Ah well, perhaps I'd better just get on with those 80+ books waiting to be read in my Kindle app!!!

You and me both. I took four boxes of books upstairs over the weekend and I still have approximately three more. UGH.

...all unread, too.

LOL. You win. At least I only have about 10 actual books sitting around.

Yeah, but you moved not all that long ago (I know, it was a year or two ago but still...). I need to go through all the paperbacks I have and donate a ton of them to the library soon.

I have issues and I need help. Like... why doesn't Harlequin have 'cowboys' as a category? Why do I have to look for 'western'?

And... I'm going to go have lunch and stop bothering you.
