Y'all know by now that I have a serious problem with Funko Pop Vinyls. And if you didn't before now, you'll believe by the end of this post.

Lord have mercy but Funko is making a Drizzt Do'Urden Pop Vinyl! WITH GUENHWYVAR. And Drizzt even has purple eyes and his scimitars! I AM SCREAMING.

And I know you're all rolling your eyes, wondering if the pot grow house down the road was giving out free samples. I get it. But you don't even understand my love of this drow and his kitty. Or Bob. Because R. A. Salvatore is an oddball, but the best kind of oddball. Seriously though, I think I picked up my first R. A. Salvatore novel in 1994 and am still loving this world so much. They are what cemented my love of fantasy. I enjoyed The Hobbit. Fell in love with Shannara. But this? This became my obsession. White haired elf boy with violet eyes and can throw lavender faerie fire? Sign me up.

Now, Funko, if you're listening, next we need Jarlaxle and Artemis. Because of reasons. And not because Jarlaxle is literally the gayest thing in the Underdark either. Plus Bruenor, Cattie-Brie, Wulfgar and all the rest. And the little halfling... I'm forgetting his name at the moment though.

*sigh*

I'm sorry, but I have no one - not one single person - that will get excited over this with me. Now is when I miss Troy the most. Although he never made it past the first book, he loved the Neverwinter games. If I remember correctly, he and Maddie were excited over the fact that Drizzt was a character in the most recent edition. Not sure if he was playable or not, but he was there.

Anyway, this is mild compared to what I went through to track down a Castiel with Wings that didn't cost me $200. But the things one does for their pretty, blue-eyed angel are forgivable, right?

And for reference, this is what I had five years ago. I've about doubled the collection since then.

I have a naked Minion, Snoopy, Voltron (don't ask), and more than a few more Supernatural. Troy loved buying them because he could say they were for me and he could enjoy them, too. Hahaha. But then, I always believed he had a bit of an angel crush on Cas anyway.

Okay, so note to self: you are not allowed to buy any more books or Pops*. Got it?

God, I feel like such an idiot, but I am so excited about this it's not even funny.

...going to go back to work now and wallow in my own ridiculousness.

Stay your nerdy excited self, Amy! I love it!

I don't know the author, books or characters, but I can certainly empathise. I was in a shop that mostly sells pop vinyls not so long ago and there was some beauties I would have loved there... control was seriously failing. I have a few Star Wars ones and a Snoopy, but I am SO TEMPTED to get more - Star Wars has SO MANY great ones. I told myself I was only going to get the 'original trilogy' main character type ones , but somehow I ended up buying Cassian Andor, so now, well... you know how it is... I feel like maybe the ten or so that I have from SW is not the end... and then I found others from different shows/movies that I really, really want. So pointless and so dust-gathery, but SO CUTE!!!!

Aw, thank you! <3

They are so addicting! Troy found Aang and Apa Pops (from Avatar: The Last Airbender) on Amazon last year and bought them for me. Until that moment, I hadn't even though to look for that show and now I need all the rest. So, I feel ya. When I bought my first - a Supernatural one (can't remember, but I think it was Dean) - I never dreamed they'd have so many for one show. *sigh* Never mind the fact they have an Alice Cooper one and a Bob Ross one, too!

I'm working on decluttering if only to make room for my books and Pops!

Yeeees and it tells you how much they’re worth. I have one that’s like 70 now.

I dunno how you missed it. It can be dangerous though.

That's awesome! I've only scanned the ones I have downstairs so far. Upstairs is where the bulk of them are. Should be interesting to see what some of them are worth.

All of mine are in my office... I have two shelves dedicated to them (unboxed) and a pyramid elsewhere. I need to fix my unboxed ones when I clean my office, a few have fallen.

Worth 593 dollars and I have 47 (if I've scanned them all).

I don't have an office. Wish I did though. Mine were all over until I moved one bookcase upstairs so I could put my bike in the living room. Now, they're all up in my bedroom aside from Aang and Appa that are on the downstairs bookshelf.

That's pretty good!

That was one of the deals when I bought the house. I'd give my parents the master and my sister the bigger bedroom... if I got an office. I have an office... that I rarely use because so far I haven't managed to get everything in order. Hopefully by the end of the summer, I'll have new windows AND my office in order.

We only have three bedrooms, so no place for me to have an office, unfortunately. Not until one of the kids vacates anyway.

Oh bummer. I took half our dining room--which the people we bought it from had as a dining room/formal living room--and put a wall up. Well Momo and I put the wall up. So I have a semi-decent sized room.

Don't push them out too soon! I know I was always greatful my parents didn't force me to leave.

I've got 4 bedrooms, but the boys have the downstairs. We have an almost complete apartment downstairs. The only thing they don't have is a kitchen and my laundry room is down there.

Interesting way to get your own space, but I get it!

Nah, I've told them both I don't expect them to move out until they've finished college. It's too hard these days. Troy felt the same way, we both believed they had a better chance of graduating if they stayed at home. And right now, I'm grateful they are still here. Taylor's employer closed their branch last night so she's out of work until they reopen.

When we bought this house, we only had Taylor, and hadn't planned on having another. So, it was good at the time. Then Maddie came along and it's still plently big - 1600 sq ft - but I'd love an office. Oh well, I can live with what I have. :)

It really is. And yeah, I need my own space with 5 other people in the house.

That's good. I've moved out a couple of times and then moved back home. (The first time because my rent was crazy, the second time because I had no heat and the landlords weren't interested in fixing it). Tell Taylor to apply for unemployment. They have a special section for people out of work for Covid-19.

You can! And I bet you'll downsize once you don't have the girls. The other thing is, can you make a corner of your bedroom an office?

Date: 2020-03-24 03:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
I can understand that. It was hard enough when there were four of us, and it was Troy, the girls, and I.

We only wound up moving back home once, and that was with my in-laws. We were doing okay, but our roommate moved out on us and then we got hit with a huge tax bill (we were 22 and unprepared). Lived with my in-laws for about 18 months, had Taylor, and moved into the house we're still living in. But sometimes you have to go home. She did that yesterday, actually.

It's what I'm planning on. A two-bedroom townhouse or something. Not at the moment. I'd have to get rid of a dresser or something first. But it's a thought.

Date: 2020-03-24 03:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com
Exactly. I have 4 twenty-somethings. And my mom. But they haven't been as bad as I thought it would be.

I was paying 1500 a month for a two bedroom. Hate New Jersey property expenses. Yeah...I agree. And it wasn't like I was living rent free. I dunno, does it count that I lived with my grandmother for 3 years?

That makes sense. I'll probably keep my house since the idea was to always have somewhere for my siblings to go. It is a thought!

Date: 2020-03-24 04:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
That's always good.

It's bad here, too, but not quite that bad. Things happen is all I can say. My in-laws took the rent we paid them and put it into an account to pay closing costs and upgrades when we bought our house. It was really nice of them.

I'll be ready for something else in a few years. Even though my kids grew up in this house (it's the only place Maddie's ever lived), I don't have any real attachment to it. Although, when it comes time to sell, I might feel differently!

Date: 2020-03-29 03:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com
Yes. We'll see how they do the next few weeks.

That was nice of them. I got "gifts" from my grandparents, aunt, and uncle when I bought my house. I say "gifts" because I had/have to pay back everyone but my uncle.

I'm sure you will. I love my house and want to upgrade it... but it's also my first house.

Date: 2020-03-29 03:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
Yeah, it definitely was. We wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise. Bummer you have to pay them back but, on the other hand, they did help you get the house, so that's a huge thing, too.

I like this house, too. It's just the right size and in a good area. But... it's getting old and things are going to start going wrong eventually. Plus, once the kids move on, it'll only be me and the cats.

Date: 2020-03-29 04:12 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com
Well, I already paid my grandparents back. And I'm about halfway there with my aunt. So it's all good. One thing that was nice is that they aren't pressuring me to pay the money back.

Oh there are lots of things I want to improve/change with this house. I'm starting with the windows...in May.

Date: 2020-03-30 08:42 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] asphaltcowgrrl.livejournal.com
That's good that you've almost got everyone paid back. Even better that they're not being obnoxious about it.

Date: 2020-04-02 08:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] shanachie-quill.livejournal.com
It really is good that they aren't being obnoxious considering the other things they ARE being obnoxious about.
