I am so proud of myself right now. For whatever reason - grief, stress, exhaustion - I haven't been riding the last couple weeks. I have been doing yoga and meditation, however, so I've not been completely lazy. Also, discovered five minute chair yoga classes on the Peloton app and do them at my desk at work during lunch. LOL!
But I digress.
For the first time in two weeks, I got back on the bike. Chose Boo over the BFA because Cody's classes are more lighthearted and usually a bit easier than Matt's. Anyway, while my output and calorie burn were about average, one thing stood out.
My heart rate did not go into the red zone once during the entire 20 minute ride. This is amazing because, let's face it, I moo when I walk y'all. And don't come at me for that, I love cows and I know I'm hella out of shape, okay? But then, that's why I bought this bike after all - so I can change that.
I've been getting stronger every ride since we got the bike last June. I can tell because my output goes up, I PR on new rides. But this was the first sign that my heart was getting healthier. So, I'm pretty excited at the moment.
Oh, and I couldn't figure out why everyone kept high fiving me. I usually get two or three during a ride, but today I got like ten. The bike's screen has a feed on the left hand side that tells you when people hit a streak, milestone, etc. and I guess I have a seven day streak going. Hahaha. Nice to see people appreciate even the small accomplishments. Also got my first high five during a post-ride stretch, which made me laugh. But I high fived her back because we need to be reminded that the stretches are as important as the rides.
Anyway, I'll stop boring you and go finish The Incredible Hulk while I make my meal plan for the week. Have a great Saturday! BYE BOO!

Date: 2020-03-07 10:59 pm (UTC)Honestly, I love it. You get so much more than just a spin bike because you have access to yoga, meditation, strength, bootcamp, and running classes in addition to the cycling. The instructors are great. Cody is funny as heck, Matt and some of the others are more mellow, but they're all motivating and inspiring.
Hahaha... yeah, a place of your own might help. :) The selling point for me was the 0% financing on it.
*high fives back* Thanks! :D

Date: 2020-03-08 08:44 pm (UTC)It really does! And then you get on the official Peloton page on FB and there are SO MANY people that hate the high fives. How can you hate encouragement and camaraderie? It makes me smile every time because I know I'm not alone.
