August Rush Day 13: Almost Human "Never Mind"

Summary: John convenes a meeting and no one cares.
Author's Notes: I have no idea what I'm even doing today.  Almost double drabble at 172 words.

“I’m guessing you’re wondering why I’ve called you both here today,” Kennex said with a grin. It was a line he’d been wanting to use for years but hadn’t had the opportunity to whip out until now.

“Not particularly,” the guy to his left offered.  “I figured you gathered us together to listen to another of your annoying rants.”

“Ditto,” the other member of the threesome agreed.  “You do like to rant you know.”

Kennex ran a hand across his face, silently counting to ten.  Dorian had reminded him to keep his cool and as much as he hated to admit it, he had promised the android he’d try.  He opened his mouth to tell them exactly what he thought of them, hesitated, and changed his mind.  “Know what?  Never mind.”

Storming off, he left the two confused people behind him.  “What did he say?”

The guy shrugged.  “I think he was muttering something about not ever getting any respect, but I wasn’t really paying attention.”

“Huh,” she said.  “Neither was I.”
