Earlier this morning, I was joking with sharpiesgal about how I could attribute half of Brooks & Dunn's discography to a moment in Zayne's life. Songs like "Lost and Found", "Brand New Man", and even "If You See Him/If You See Her."
That discussion got me in the mood to listen to a bit of B&D, so I pulled up their greatest hits album on Spotify for my ride to work. The first song random shuffle gave me? "Boot Scootin' Boogie."
In my defense, it's been years since I've listened to this song, so when the line, "The bartender asks me 'Say son what'll it be', I want a shot at that redhead yonder lookin' at me" played, I spit out the loudest, ugliest laugh ever. I - I'm sorry, James, really. Zayne's not, but I am.
And now I must work and try not to randomly snort when I think about this. Because it'll keep creeping back into my brain, without a doubt.
