June Reading Recap
Jul. 6th, 2021 01:58 pmI keep thinking about this and then promptly forgetting. UGH. So, here we go.
What I read:
A Vineyard Valentine by Nina Bocci. Cute, short little audiobook.
From the Shadows by B. J. Daniels. Second in the Buckhorn, Montana series. Not quite as good as the first, but still a strong series.
Darcy by R. J. Scott. I love a good fake dating story and this one has a fun twist.
The Capybaras by Alfredo Soderguit. This was a cute little children’s book about fitting in and being different. When I saw it on another reader’s blog, I had to borrow it from the library.
Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag by Rob Sanders. Another children’s book, but I love that there is a kid’s book explaining this. Honestly, I had no idea and learned something from it even.
The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. Great psychological thriller/mystery novel. The end left me feeling a bit sad though.
Lose Weight Like Crazy Even if You Have a Crazy Life by Autumn Calabrese. Borrowed this from the library because she’s one of the Beachbody Trainers I like.
What I’m Currently Reading:
21st Birthday by James Patterson & Maxine Paetro. Book #21 in the Women’s Murder Club series.
Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Audiobook that I really ought to get back to soon.
The Wicked Hour by Alice Blanchard
Bath Haus by P.J. Vernon.
Since I’m eyeball deep in so many books at the moment, I won’t put up a ‘to read next’ section because looking at my library holds, any TBR at the moment is pointless.

Date: 2021-07-06 09:34 pm (UTC)Have you watched season one of the Shadow & Bone TV series yet? How's the book going? N2D bought some of the books and was going to let me read the first now I've seen the whole season, but has not managed to give it to me yet. And I have a Kindle book on the go and a library book I need to get into before too many more weeks go by as it's only on loan for a month and I've had it a week already, so those two will be first (and never mind the pile in my Kindle app and on my shelf that are yet to be read, but you know how that is!) ;-)

Date: 2021-07-06 09:46 pm (UTC)I watched the first episode, was confused, gave up, and borrowed the book from the library. Loan ran out, downloaded the audiobook. LOL I'm enjoying the book so far, and really enjoy the interactions between Alina the Darkling so far. But I'm not all that far in yet either, she's only just discovered how to intentionally call her power. But it's been good so far.
God... let's just not even discuss unread books right now. Hah.
