Tuesday Babbling

Because today has been and adventure.
I should probably start off by saying that nearly two weeks (!) ago, the lovely
kaige68 gave me my very first ever v-gift. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I've been haunting this joint since 2002, and never have I gotten a v-gift. So, thank you for all of your kind words. :) And excuse my lack of manners in taking so damn long to say something!
Now, back to today. I get up at the butt crack of dawn because my children have school earlier than any kid should. So, picture me - wait, no, not that. Imagine standing in the shower at just after 4:30 AM. You lean back to wet your hair and a GODDAMN SPIDER FALLS FROM THE FREAKING SKY. You close your eyes, pull back and try to start breathing again. You look around and CAN'T FIND THE SPIDER ANYWHERE. You freak out, knock the shampoo bottle over, and find the asshole spider hiding behind the shampoo bottle. You breathe again and, aiming the showerhead at the offending creature, wash it down the drain. Needless to say, it was a rough way to start the morning. Oddly enough, I'm not normally afraid of spiders, but when the SOB's start falling from nowhere, I scream. It probably doesn't help that Nevada is home to two of the US's most poisonous spiders: the black widow and the brown recluse. So yeah, I freaked out thinking I had one in my hair.
Happy effing Tuesday, Amy.
But on the bright side, I've finished a couple of books this week. This morning was volume 4 of Hana-Kimi, a manga in which a young girl passes herself off as a boy to join an all-boy's school. This is one nutty manga, let me tell you, but so much fun. I really wish I knew what all the crossdressing in manga was about. Not that I mind, bu still. I also finished An Intimate Murder by Stacy Verdick Case. It's very Stephanie Plum-like in parts, but a very funny murder mystery. I am contemplating buying some of the others for Kindle off Amazon now. :) The last thing I've read over the last week is Betting on Julia by Nina Croft. This wasn't the best of the group, but it wasn't awful either. A werewofl and a demon possessed mage hook up and sparks fly... okay. I'm not big on shifter stories, but I liked Julia a lot. She was fun, even if her favorite color was pink. Hah.
To add to the above, I also managed to make my way through season 1 of Vampire Knight on Netflix. Started season 2 this morning. I wish I knew why Yuki's blood is so darn tasty to vamps though. Hah.
Are you bored yet? I am, why else do you think you're getting this post? :) Maybe I ought to shut up now?
Okay so I'll be quiet but rest assured, I'll be back the next time I get bored.

Date: 2014-10-06 10:13 pm (UTC)Anyway...
Sadly, I am up every morning that early. My kids have to be at the bus stop an ungodly hour. But right - that was my whole thing exactly. Where did it go? When I found the bastard hiding behind the shampoo bottle, I was much relieved.
I agree. Reading is my most favorite thing to do. I don't do enough of it these days, but I try. Hah! I watch way too much TV, too, so I feel ya, sister. I did finally finish Vampire Knight this morning and really enjoyed it. I love that anime takes you from this really serious moment straight into the goofiest things ever.
