I think I forgot to do this last month, so oops at me.

Movies I Watched:

Rogue One
Weekend
The Little Things
This Corner of the World – cute and sad WWII anime set in Japan and Hiroshima

TV I Watched:
Keeping Faith Season 1
Haikyuu!! Season 1
Sharp Objects – really good, especially if you’ve read the book
The Affair Seasons 4 & 5 – great end to the series.
Demon Slayer Season 1

What’s up next:

I started watching Shut Eye on Hulu but put it aside when my DVD arrived. So, once I finish the first disc of The Fades, I’ll go back to Shut Eye. So far, both have been really good.

Taylor and I have also been watching The White Lotus on HBO Max and dang but this show is INSANE. LOL

Not really sure what will be next, TV really hasn’t been engaging me much lately. Well, except the return of Evil on Paramount+. And Taylor started watching Good Girls, so we’re now watching the last season together.

As per usual, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Between streaming and the Amazon marketplace, I can find just about anything cheaply. LOL

Throwback to July 2019 (my birthday, actually) and Violet watching Comrade Detective with me:

Awww! I used to love when my cat Cassie would get super interested in whatever I was watching.

I was going to watch The Fades at one point but it looked too scary!

She was still a baby in those pics — about 4 months old. But she'll do it now sometimes, too, and just STARE. Silly kitties.

I don't think it's been really scary so far, but I'm only 2 episodes in at the moment. Disclaimer: I do love scary stuff so my idea of 'not very' might not be accurate. LOL

Yeah, my scare factor is weird. I can handle zombies because I love them even though they freak me out. Ghosts and things like that I absolutely cannot handle at all. Those TV ads for that movie where there is a sheet hanging on the outside line and then the wind blows and there's a silhouette of a body pressed against the sheet? NO THANK YOU MA'AM. *runs far away*

And since I remember The Fades being about ghosts... I think I should steer clear. LOL

Yup, it sure is about ghosts, so probably a good call there. But it is interesting about the things that scare us vs the things that don't.

Oh! And you said you like zombies, so have you ever read Brian Keene's books The Rising and City of the Dead? I'm not big on zombies, but they are two of the best zombie books I've ever read.

The name is so familiar but it took looking at a little synopsis of the book for me to remember why I didn't read his books. His zombies think and have motor skills. They can drive cars. I am a traditionalist when it comes to zombies. I prefer the slow-movers. I'll accept a running zombie but that's as far as I'll stretch! LOL

Thanks for the suggestions, though. You never know what's going to strike a spark with someone!

And it IS weird what scares us. I mean, zombies scare the shit out of me, but they are still my favourite. It's a good scared rather than a I AM GOING TO DIE scared. LOL

Ah, I can understand that. I can be that way about vampires sometimes. However, the functionality of his zombies are why I liked the series so much — they were truly frightening to me, more so than the traditional kind.

Exactly. We like what we like! EX: I have had Colleen Hoover recommended to me MANY times. I got one of her books from the library and it ended up being one of my very rare DNFs.

Right, and that all ties into our lives in weird ways. And something that scares you just enough to get your flight or fight response going is a good thing. Something that terrifies you, not really.
