And boy was that a lot.
I have officially finished all 8 weeks of LIIFT 4 and didn't die. Nor did I murder anyone. Bonus!
Background: LIIFT 4 is an 8-week Beachbody program that consists of lifting, HIIT (high-intensity interval training) or cardio, and a core component every day. It's tough, but I've been enjoying it. I mean... this is worth getting up at 3:45 AM for, right?
*coughs*
Anyway, where was I? Right. Progress.
I've made some! There are areas where the changes in weight are minimal, but in others, I nearly doubled. In the end, I'm really proud of myself. My shoulders and triceps are apparently the weakest link, but on the bright side, I know where to focus now. Side note: I won't do my measurements until Sunday, so I'll see then if anything's changed.
Here's my progression from week one to yesterday, the last weight day in week 8:

Y raises and swimmers were my nemesis. The shoulder fly I might have been able to go heavier on if it weren't for those other two. How heavy I went each day often depended on what I did before that particular move.
At the end, Joel, the trainer, said to go back to week 1, start over using the weights that we finished this week with. I'm opting for another program just to give my body a break, but I've saved my weight tracker and I do think that I'll go back to this one next. I really liked the atmosphere, the focus on strength training, and the general upbeat theme to it all.
Anyway, happy Friday everyone!

Date: 2021-09-03 07:46 pm (UTC)Well done, you! I wish I had your motivation and perseverance! What's in the boxes is all a foreign language to me, but I can see from the numbers that you're doing fantastically! Woo! ♥

Date: 2021-09-03 11:10 pm (UTC)It's a wonderful thing to find something that motivates, and that proves worthwhile. Hope you enjoy what you shift to- but if not, you've got a plan to go back to.
I've been getting back to jog/walking โ couple of miles a day, working my way back up the ladder. So far so good. :)

Date: 2021-09-06 10:52 pm (UTC)I agree. As big of a joke as Peloton has become, their instructors really do motivate, as do the Beachbody trainers. I guess if you can make me laugh while I'm dying then I'll stick with you. Day one of the new program today was a bit awkward, but I think I'm going to like it.
Sounds great to me! Hoping you have some nice weather while you're out.
