The most frustrating time of the year…

…when you have cats.

So, yesterday, Taylor decided it was time to finally put up the Christmas tree, despite us not having a couch or chairs in the living room. Hahaha. The cats were at least kind enough to wait until she went to work before attacking the poor thing. Oddly enough, Nayla was the first to get under it and start batting at the ornaments. I had my money on Sunny.

The first Christmas we had Sunny, she climbed INTO the tree and just lounged. (December 2018)



This year, I think she’s plotting the demise or our poor tree. And no, you’re not imagining things. I have no carpet right now.

Now I’m realizing that I haven’t taken a picture of the Christmas train we got for the cats at Target. Taylor was torn between a toy shop and a train, so she and Maddie went with the train. I’ll try and remember to do that tonight. It’s cute and currently Sunny’s favorite place.

Anyway… now that you’re tired of me and my cats, I’ll go back to work.

You'll enjoy it once you've got the floor and the sofa arranged - something to look forward to!

My sis went through an extended period w/o furniture after we moved. She was starting over, and had her bed and a card table for the living/dining area. It turned into a whole saga- pieces stuck a five hour drive away with no truckers to get it up here. But she's almost set now. Noting happens fast these days. :\

I know, it'll be so much nicer once it's all done. Taylor and I are going to go look at a couch tonight. We can't find anything we like that's actually in stock, so we're going to have to order one. Wish us luck.

Oh no, that's stressful. I'm glad that she's almost fully furnished now! Hopefully I will be soon, too! Then, I have to get myself a new bed since my mattress is shot.

The cats are very cute and the tree is very pretty! And I wouldn't have noticed the lack of carpet if you hadn't pointed it out (the lighting makes it hard to tell). Incidentally, we lived at our last place with no carpet for 14 years (handy for children & pets) with just varnished particle board floors and a few rugs, and only put carpet in 2 months before we moved out! Oh, and our cats checked out our Christmas tree and have left it alone since. We are very lucky as it's the same every year. The only cat we had who climbed in it one year unfortunately died young.

Thank you! I'll tell Taylor since she did most of the tree decorating. Now that's funny — I have bare concrete, so not even something like what you had. We're putting in a vinyl flooring in a couple weeks, but the bare slab kind of sticks out sometimes. :)

I'm glad your cats leave your tree alone. Nayla and Violet love to knock the ornaments around. Sunny's the only one who climbs it. LOL

Funny — I've only ever had one cat that got IN the tree, and that's Miss Sunny. Even with as mischievous and bratty as Violet was as a kitten, she only attacked the ornaments on low-hanging branches.

LOL I've had... 3 in the tree. One knocked the tree OVER on my friends and I while we were sleeping on the living room floor. Murphy used to knock the table top tree off and drag it around the room.

The funny part? He was obsessed with sitting ON TOP of the box.

Buddy pulled our tree over several years ago, without actually getting in it. He sat on the couch and yanked it. LOL That's too funny that your cat knocked it over onto someone though.

My cat, Budd, liked to play with the doorstops in the bathrooms in a similar fashion. He liked the noise they made, I guess.

That is clearly Violet's chair. I don't know what you're talking about. And if you're going to put the Christmas tree *right next to Sunny's cat tree* then you certainly can't blame her if she decides to check it out. From the inside. #TeamSunny

The cats have a bad habit of stealing Taylor's spot, so I'm sure she thinks it's her chair. LOL

Usually, the tree isn't in that spot, but we had to move it while we were painting. But I know, putting it in a spot where the cats have several launch pads into the tree wasn't the brightest idea.
