A neat gift

A few of you have seen this on FB already, so ignore at will if you'd like. Hah.

When I got home last night, I went upstairs to check on the progress of my shower (so close!) and found something draped across the foot of my bed.



Troy's mom gave her longtime BFF some of his old jeans and she turned them into this quilt for me. The lining, she said, was a tribute to my love of Halloween and cats. Honestly, Troy would have approved. He'd have teased me, but he'd have approved.

She also left me a note that brought me to tears. I know that they care about the girls and I, but it's nice to know that I'm always going to be part of their family, too, even though their son is gone. The girls, I never worried about. But me? Sometimes, I do.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you guys since you were by my side through all the drama that boy caused me over the last five years.

I really am. Not sure about that last part though — I am keeper of their grandchildren, who are always a tossup as to whether they're charming or demons. HAHAHA.
