Didn’t read as much as I had hoped, but didn’t do too badly.  Okay, so now that I realized my read shelf wasn’t sorted properly… I see that I read more than I though. Hahaha.

What I read:

Final Shot by Stacey Lynn.  Las Vegas Vipers #0.5 (aka a novella)  I love second chance romances and this was sweet and a lot of fun.  Makes me want to dig into the series now.

A Darkness More Than Night by Michael Connelly.  I liked that this was both Harry and Terry McCaleb in this one.  Also found myself fascinated by the way he worked the Bosch paintings into the story line as well.

The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas.  Gothic horror set in 1880’s era Mexico in an old hacienda.  Exactly what I needed to read – spooky, but with a spunky heroine and a sexy priest.  The ending broke my heart though.  A horror novel isn’t supposed to do that to you.

My Wife is Missing by D. J. Palmer.  A twisty mystery/psychological thriller.  Not nearly as good as the previous book I read by this author, but interesting all the same.  REVIEW.

Heir of the Dog by Hailey Edwards.  Black Dog #2.  I love this paranormal series!  Thierry is part human, part fae, and in this book, she goes into the land of the Fae in order to save her mother.  I’ve heard the others in the series aren’t as good, but I’ll keep going until I find one that sucks.

Three’s Company by Kristian Parker.  Throuples in small town England?  Sign me up.  Hahaha.  I loved 2/3 of this pairing.  Hardeep and Will were adorable.  Andrew drove me a bit nuts.  He has past trauma, but the way he shoved everyone away annoyed me.  Village Affairs #2, I need to go read the first now though.

Void Moon by Michael Connelly.  The one and only Cassie Black book.  Took me a bit to get into this, mainly because I was wanting more Harry.  But overall, a good story, a different direction than usual.

What I’m reading now:

Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood.  Hardcover.  I’m not very far in yet, but I’m enjoying it so far.  Cute, funny, and looks to be an entertaining read.  Maddie read another book of hers – The Love Hypothesis – and thought it was cute, so I’m hoping this one is, too.

The Murder Game by Julie Apple (aka Christina McKenzie).  E-book.  Another I’m not very far into yet, but it has grabbed my attention.

Survive the Night by Riley Sager.  Audiobook.  I was looking for something for a book for spooky season and this was lingering in my Audible library.  About three hours in and enjoying it.

What’s up next:

I’ve got no idea.

Oh I've heard good things about the Hacinda. I'm glad you liked it. I'm sorry about the heartbreak.

Sounds like you've read some good books!

It's a little slow at first, but it gets a lot better if you stick with it. Hahaha — I'm just a sap, so you might feel differently at the end. :D

I got lucky last month, lots of good ones.
