Whyyyy am I such a sucker?

Brian catches me as I'm leaving Jeff's office by yelling, "Hey Amy, want a cat?"
This, of course, catches my attention. I was not dubbed the Crazy Cat Lady for nothing, folks.
He proceeds to tell me that his cat has had kittens. These kittens need homes. HE HAD PICTURES.
The girls are fully on board. I caved and told him that if he has any girls in the litter, I could be persuaded.
And not only do I already have three cats, this kitten is going to be a ginger cat (Mama is, too, and all the kittens are very similar in coloring so far). And orange cats are nuts.
Send help. Or kitten food.

Date: 2023-06-16 06:40 pm (UTC)2 years ago it was 3K (that I still owe my mother) so I'll be honest... the 300 isn't bad.
Is Nyla feeling better at least? LOL and you want to add another kitty??

Date: 2023-06-16 06:44 pm (UTC)When Darby was diagnosed with kidney failure, it cost us something like $8k. Most of that ended up in the bankruptcy so I didn't pay it all off. But yeah, $300 is about what you expect whenever you go in.
Vet said her blood work was all good. A slight bit off with her liver, but nothing to worry about. She did have a UTI though. So, she's doing better, but still super skinny and not putting on weight. She does eat and drink and use the litterbox, comes downstairs, gets on my bed, etc., so I think she's okay, just getting old.
I know. I think part of my reasoning is that if something does happen to her, Sunny and Violet (as well as my girls) would have something to comfort themselves with.

That makes sense.

Also Pretty Litter. Best decision I've ever made. Let me know if you want a coupon... I think I still have some.

Date: 2023-07-11 07:35 pm (UTC)It might.
I've seen Pretty Litter in Target and online. Haven't tried it though, because I had three cats and it'd be hard to tell which one was sick I think. But I might look into it in the future.

Date: 2023-07-28 10:42 am (UTC)I mean I have 3 cats too. I didn't even think of that, but so far we've been good. It's nice to just scoop the poop and nothing else. I did stop my subscription because they send it at random times and it put my account in arrears more than once.

Date: 2023-07-28 04:27 pm (UTC)I don't think I knew you had three, just the one you usually talk about (Roscoe?). What I buy is the Arm & Hammer Slide Multi-Cat and it seems to clump really well. You probably know this already, but they sell Pretty Litter at Target now.

Date: 2023-08-19 12:23 am (UTC)Well now I have 2... and a half. The half is my sister's cat. We lost my black cat yesterday.
We used to use... my brain is blank, but yes one of the clumping litters. Fresh Step... that's what we used.
It's at Walmart now too.
