That's it - I quit

I know this isn't a healthy attitude to have, but I am so done.
On a daily basis, I'm asked to do things for other people in this office that they could easily do themselves. Things that likely would have taken less time to do than it took to send me that email. However, when I ask one of them for help? Whole other story.
Case in point:
Me: Hey, could you give me an estimated amount for the rental company on this job?
Him: Can't you just run a cost report?
Me: I could, but I thought you might have had a number you used for the original bid.
Him: There's a line item on the proposal for $12,000 but I know that's not right. I don't know how to estimate rentals for a job.
Ooookaaay. So you know that $12k isn't right, but you can't estimate what is? And let's not forget that this is the dude that thinks he knows the price of everything ever used to plumb. He's forever telling me, "I don't know where you got that price, but it's not right." Um, off the supplier invoice? "Oh, they didn't bill us correctly." Nah, dude, you just think you know it all.
Two things I probably ought to note here. First, I couldn't actually run a cost report at that moment because I couldn't get into Quickbooks to do so. Second, the rental company's website is down for maintenance so I can't get in there either. Which is the reason why I had emalied him in the first place. Learned my lesson though. Forget asking him anything ever again. And if I under or over estimate in the future? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And I'm sorry that my first post in two months is... this.
Hoping all y'all are having a better day.

Date: 2023-12-06 07:03 pm (UTC)Thanks.
I need to eat at regular intervals or I get cranky. So, having to put off lunch for so long was not doing me any favors yesterday. Hoping you get your lunch on time today!
So far, it's been less frustrating.

Date: 2024-01-03 12:01 am (UTC)Saaaameee. But some of my classes are scheduled during the normal lunch time because my kids start lunch at like 9:40.
Good glad to hear that.

Date: 2024-01-06 01:18 pm (UTC)It does. I've been taking little snacks and eating throughout the day. On days I have later lunches, I make sure I snack. (None of my classes are longer than 45 minutes thankfully... and only one day do I have more than 3.)

Date: 2024-01-06 11:41 pm (UTC)That's good. It's tough to deal with people, especially kids, when you're hangry.

Date: 2024-01-09 08:14 pm (UTC)I need to stop answering my phone while I'm eating lunch...

Date: 2024-01-09 11:00 pm (UTC)I wish I could, but no one else will answer the phone. So, they all get to eat at the table in the break room and I sit at my desk. :/

I need to clean off my desk at work so I can work there since my library will be in use on Wednesday.

Date: 2024-01-29 08:46 pm (UTC)LOL Half the time, they let the phone ring three times when I transfer them a call. Like guys, get with it.
Ugh, that's a bummer.

Date: 2024-02-08 04:51 pm (UTC)LOL of course. Half the time I don't HEAR my phone when it rings.
I managed to work in my office. And apparently no one knew I was in there.

Date: 2024-02-08 06:01 pm (UTC)I wish I didn't hear ours. LOL
Wonderful. Hahaha — and even better. You can sneak in, do work, and not be bothered.

Date: 2024-03-21 11:39 pm (UTC)I'm sure. My worst annoyance is when the bookkeeper (who is across the hall from me) calls me. Like you couldn't walk across the hall??
Yeees. I even have a "private" entrance. My office unfortunately is a dumping ground so it's difficult to work in there.

Date: 2024-03-28 09:45 pm (UTC)These guys do that to me and I have a wall and a door between us. And they get mad when I don't hear them? Confession: sometimes I do hear them and ignore them because why should I go to them?
