First and foremost, THE BOYS TURNED 8 MONTHS OLD SATURDAY.  I cannot believe how big they’ve gotten.  When we first brought them home, I could hold them both in one hand.  Now, I need both hands to lift one of them.  But they are still furry bundles of chaos and sunshine.

I also have almost everything I need for my trip in April.  Which is exactly two months from today.  I’m a bit freaked out as I haven’t traveled anywhere in a long time.  But I’ll manage!

Anyway, I’m not looking forward to this week at all.  Months ago, my dishwasher started acting up.  I put off getting it looked at because it’s only the three of us, so handwashing dishes isn’t an issue.  But yesterday, the dryer started making a horrible, screeching sound.  Which it has done before and I think the bearings needed replacing.  So, I scheduled an appointment for Thursday to have both looked at.  Might as well, right?  Ugh, and I also noticed the tread on my front two tires are showing some serious wear, so I have an appointment on Saturday to have that looked at.  It’s going to be an expensive week.  *cries*  But they’re things that need to be done.

On to the less stressful stuff.

What I read:

I didn’t get too much read last week, but I’m okay with that.

The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell.  The narrator on this audiobook was fantastic.  I loved how excited and animated he got when narrating a fight scene.

Twenty-Seven Minutes by Ashley Tate.  A thriller/mystery full of unlikable and unreliable narrators.  I really enjoyed it, however.

A Cold Blooded Business by Dana Stabenow.  I’m really enjoying this series.  Each book gets a little better and Kate’s relationship with Jack gets a little more serious.

What I’m reading:

The Lies Amont Us by Sarah Beth Durst

In the House in the Dark of the Woods by Laird Hunt

Madness: Race and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum by Antonia A. Hylton

So far, the first two have been good and the third one hasn’t pissed me off yet but… give it time.  LOL  I’m trying to read a bit more nonfiction, which is why I have that last one on the list.

What I watched:

I finished The Night Manager and watched the first episode of a show called Delicious on Acorn TV.  Then I stopped because I got sucked into the audiobooks I was listening to.  Wanted to listen to them more than I wanted to watch TV, I guess.  I am up to season 16 of Chopped, however.  LOL  Oh, and Taylor and I are still working on our rewatch of Abbott Elementary.

It’s raining here today as we’re getting the remnants of the atmospheric rivers hitting the west coast right now.  I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a forecast for an entire week of rain outside of monsoon season (mid-June through late August) before.  But I’ll take it.

That’s it for now. Nada mas, amigas.

ETA: I write these things in a Word doc and then paste into LJ.  As I’m putting the cut in, I suddenly think of an episode of Franklin & Bash where they’d been arguing over dogs and cats or something – it’s been many years, so I can’t really remember the setup.  But what I do remember is Jared saying, “Meow mother-“ and the scene cutting off.  WHYYY this popped into my head suddenly, I don’t know, but now I’m trying not to cackle out loud at my desk.  Oh, and it became a joke between Troy and myself.  Whenever one of us would make a point, we’d blurt out, “Meow MFer!” and crack up.

Yeah, we had a weird relationship.

Hahahahah I remember that! Oh I want to rewatch that so bad, but it's apparently not streaming. :-(

The boys are getting sooo big. I have two of four siblings (my momo's sister has a third and one was killed when they were kittens.) When the three we got were babies, I could hold all three in my arms. Now I can hold one.

I *loved* that show. But I was pretty much obsessed with everything on USA Network in those days, too. It is on Pluto TV, which you can sign up for free, but there might be ads.

Man, it's crazy. I need to do a cat post, but I keep getting distracted. I know that babies grow fast, I have two of my own. But for some reason, it seems even faster when they're kittens.

SAME! I even wrote some fanfic for it. Someday I might go back and finish the series. Oooh I have that, I think. I don't mind commercials. I'll have to add it to my list.

You do! They grow faster because they mature faster.

Hah! I don't mind commercials so much either, as long as it isn't the same one every break. LOL

True. They went from barely being able to stumble across my room to racing up and down the stairs and everywhere else.

CBS is HORRIBLE with that. I have the new TMobile internet commercial memorized.

Aaawww they aren't babies anymore.

UGH. That's frustrating. It's like the free channels on Samsung Pass on my TV. It's the same thing all the time and weirdly, more often than not, they're in Spanish. Um, no lo entiendo?

No, they're definitely not! Almost 10 months old now.

It really was!

No worries. I started the next Witchless in Seattle cozy this morning, but it's only 4 hours long. How much time do you have left in yours?

It's all good. I'm scattered even on my best days!

I have 4:47 left but I'm not loving it and listening to it at 1.2 (b/c 1.0 is killing me and 1.5 is dizzying). So it could go a lot faster.

Ugh, sorry you're not loving it. I can't even imagine 1.5x! I've done 1.2 at times, but it's not my favorite. These people who say they listen at 2x or 2.5x and 'you get used to it' are liars. LOL
