So, Gideon gave me a fright this morning.  Violet woke me up at 11:30, thne again at 12:30, wanting to eat both times.  The first time, the whole crew chased me down the stairs to eat.  The second, Gideon stayed snoozing on my bed.  This is not unusual, although the boy does like to eat.

When I got up at 4 to do my workout, I went downstairs and fed all four of them again.  I know this sounds like a lot, but they get regular meals plus a couple of 'snacks' during the day, with Gideon's portions being closely monitored.  (He's on a diet, poor baby.)  Anyway, I fed them, I got my stuff together, and went back upstairs.  After my workout, I shower and then go downstairs to make my lunch, eat breakfast, and get ready for work.  Gideon never came down for breakfast and, when I was ready to leave at 6:45, I noticed he still hadn't come downstairs.  I went back up to check on him, expecting to find him crashed on my bed, but he was under it.

That is not normal.  And he has had issues with UTIs in the past, so I was worried.  I made myself leave for work knowing that Maddie would be up to let the bug guy into the back yard (my neighbor still hasn't completely removed that damn tree yet).  When I got the email from the pest control company letting me know they'd completed the service, I texted Maddie thanking her.  Then, I asked if she'd seen Gids yet.  "Yep, he greeted me as soon as I opened the door. Tried to trip me on the stairs twice," was her response.  So, he was up and apparently he was hungry.

So, I sat her worrying about him for three hours for nothing.  Typical!

Since I'm whining, I suppose I ought to add pictures.

Despite being 18 lbs, this cat is such a baby.

And then his brother sitting in judgement of my reading material.

Lastly 3/4 of the committee has convened (I have no idea where Violet was, or the VGK offense for that matter).

Cats can be very confusing! They're fine but seem sick... they're sick but seem fine. *shrug*

It's a good thing they are cute.

I'm still pressing the pet pause button, though. Lol.

Seriously! And they're so good at hiding their illnesses an injuries that you often don't have a clue anything's wrong.

Hahaha — true!

That's a shame because I one more sleepless night away from shipping Violet to the east coast.
