November Reads
Dec. 4th, 2025 12:41 pmI haven't done this in a while and I'm not sure why I stopped, but here we are again. Had a pretty decent month, too.
What I read:
Brigands & Breadknives by Travis Baldree - audio - narrated by the author
Sherlock Holmes: The Definitive Collection by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - audio - narrated by Stephen Fry
That One Night by Emily Rath - ebook KU
The Emerald Threads by Lynn Morrison & Anne Radcliffe - audio - narrated by Mary Jane Wells
A Fellowship of Games and Fables by J. Penner - audio - narrated by Vicki-Jo Eva
All of Us Murderers by KJ Charles - eARC
Lethal Secret by Sally Rigby - audio - narrated by Clare Corbett
Dim Sum of All Fears by Vivien Chien - audio - narrated by Cheryl May
Murder in Montmartre by Cara Black - audio - narrated by Carine Montbertrand
Gone for Gouda by Korina Moss - audio - narrated by Erin Moon
The Baby Dragon Cafe by A. T. Qureshi - audio - narrated by Ash Raju & Hunter Johns
On the Night of the Seventh Moon by Victoria Holt - audio - narrated by Virginia Leishman
The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong - audio - narrated by Phyllis Ho
That Sherlock audiobook was 70-something hours. I've been working on it since February.
What I'm reading:
Madness by Antonia Hylton - hardcover - 28%
The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper by Hollie Rubenhold - ebook KU - 18%
Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder by Caroline Fraser - ebook library loan - 41% (I need to check this back out and finish it)
Everybody Knows by Jordan Harper - paperback - 4%
Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid - ebook Kobo - 42%
A Night Too Dark by Dana Stabenow - audio - 7% (only started this morning lol)
What's next:
I think I'm going to do my best to bust these down before I even think about starting something new. Wish me luck on that. 😂 Also, Kaige, if you're reading this, I did what you said and started putting $1 aside for every book I finished.
According to my spreadsheet, I've read 125 books this year. I guess now I know why my writing has been suffering this year. Hahaha. Really ought to update GR and Storygraph, although at this point, I might just give up until the new year.

Date: 2025-12-04 08:54 pm (UTC)I have a vague memory of "On the Night of the Seventh Moon". I read the hell out of Victoria Holt's stuff in high school when my friends and I would give each other romance novels for our birthdays. (What’s a more appropriate gift for a student attending an all-girl Catholic high school than a book full of smut?)

Date: 2025-12-04 08:57 pm (UTC)I'd never read anything of hers before, but I belong to an online book group for gothic romantic suspense novels and this was the Nov/Dec buddy read. It was a bit crazy, but I did enjoy it.
Oh man, I love that you guys did that. And even funnier considering the circumstances.
