December Book Update
Dec. 31st, 2025 10:16 amI had a good month and a good reading year overall.
What I Read:
Madness by Antonia Hylton
Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid
The Last Guest House by Caroline Mitchell
The Undead Mr. Tenpenney by Tammie Painter
A Night Too Dark by Dana Stabenow
Playing with Matches by Hannah Orenstein
No One Can Know by Kate Alice Marshall
The Last Witch of Scotland by Philip Paris
Grave Expectations by Alice Bell
The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams
What I’m Currently Reading:
The Five: The Untold Lives of the Women Killed by Jack the Ripper by Hollie Rubenhold. KU ebook. 23% complete
Everybody Knows by Jordan Harper. Print. 6% complete.
I just placed a hold on Prairie Fires by Caroline Fraser, a book I borrowed from the library earlier this year and didn’t get a chance to finish. I want to finish off these lingering half finished books before I start diving into new ones.
Yearly Stats:
Books read: 133
Pages read: 11,229
Minutes listened: 49,863
Days read: 349/365 <- okay, so this is much better than I thought
Most read genre: mystery (no surprise there)
Least read genre: a tie between history, women’s fiction, and thriller.
Bookish goals for 2026:
To read more of the print books I own.
To read more of the ebooks I own.
To continue the book jar Kaige suggested to me this year. I put a dollar into the jar for every book I read. I already do this for my workouts, so why not?
To read more nonfiction. I have recently bought a couple of interesting books – one on southern Nevada ghost towns and one I bought on Prohibition at the Mob Museum (I figured entrance was free, I might as well buy a book lol).
To review more of the books I read.
I think that’s it. Happy New Year everyone!
